Working on a holiday MMP

**Tugig **- I saw that map, too. It looks as if it’s starting to mix with rain here, but there are still some flakes falling. In any event, I’m not going to shovel - it’ll be easier to drive out over snow than on ice. Altho I may have to work my way to the end of the drive to clear what the plow has deposited.

Winter sucks.

We only get the Big holidays here so I’m at work, but it is quiet and the parking garage in emptier because of folks staying home with kids. Winter Weather predicted for the afternoon - fun times getting home I’m sure.

The best part is they haven’t come to work on the heat yet – it’s single digits outside and 80 in the office. :smack:

{{{Rockin’ and AD}}} My condolences.

I have the day off. Didn’t get MLK day. Like others, my company is holding the line on total number of holidays. They just move them around. My hubby’s company doesn’t give this day off, but they do give off the Friday before Easter.

The magnetic pulse thing seems to be helping my head. I think? I still have 1-2 major headaches a week, where I lie in bed and pray for a coma. It seems to be helping the other days. I normally have a headache every single day. This seems to reduce the not so bad headaches. I either don’t have them on other days, or they’re so minimal they can easily be ignored. So, Yay! I guess. The animals still run. My co-workers make cute remarks like, “Hearing that device gives me a headache.” Tough titties, people.

Last night we had the lovely steak dinner, but I forgot the chocolate.

Today, nothing major is planned. Perhaps laundry. Perhaps grocery shopping. And paying bills. Gotta do that. Wheeeee!

I ventured to :eek:Wally*World:eek:, procured cheap chawklit in various forms, and had N.O.L. with OYKW. I say that I have had a productive mornin’ into early afternoon. Now I shall be a sloth until it’s time to head over to the church house. Nappage will ensue.

{{{rockin’, AD and the Sprog}}}

I’m at irk. My company only gives four holidays, New Year’s, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas aside from PTO. I’m at the point where I accrue ~6 hours a two week pay period as PTO. Like spidey, I would rather take a nice sunny summer day off than a whole mess of winter days.

There appears to be a temporary stop in the snow. From the looks of the radar, rain will be here soon. The question remains: Will there be a delayed opening tomorrow??

I watched some Netflix while crocheting. But now I’m bored. BORED!!!

I don’t know what to do with myself right now.

Kind of grumpy, kind of blah, want a nap, but have things to do.

I’m irritated with Sah-son, and the dog.

The company I work for never closes, so no holidays for us, paid or otherwise. I can take them if I want, but I won’t get paid, and I suspect if I take too much time off my contract will not be renewed.

I need to set some mousetraps. The squirrels will have to wait until it’s warmer. I’m going to try some pepper spray first. They just chewed around the great stuff. I wonder when baby squirrels are born, I hope there isn’t a nest in there.

I need some chocolate.

Sari where are the mousies? If they are housie mousies, my mom uses an electronic repellant (plugs in, makes noise mice don’t like, no mice). She swears it works well and her cats and dog don’t seem effected. She also says that spiders stay away.

I am oddly bored. Perhaps I shall install the under-the-sink water filter. I have started the laundry and yes, I still need to pay bills. Blah.

It’s drizzly here - I stuck my arm out the back door to verify. Still below freezing, tho. I’m counting on the rain promised tonight and tomorrow to clear the driveway. We shall see…

Chicken fried rice chicken helper for supper, jazzed up with some extra veggies. I’m hoping there will be enough left over for me to take for lunch tomorrow. That’s assuming our work day starts at its normal time. TBD.

IOW, your home is like the MMP…filled with flakes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Theater experience was less than ideal; while we were buying tix, someone came out to complain how hot it was in there. Then I gave up on popcorn after 20 mins in line & still 6 people ahead of me. Politely said something to the manager before leaving about how they need to shape up because their costing themselves $. As an apology, he gave me passes for a return engagement.

Then stopped at the market to get what will now be tonight’s dinner & to look at [del]not-[/del]cheap chawklit. 19¢ off is not cheap chawklit so went into Tar-jhay but they was cleaned out (at 30% off). Got the very last bag of Kit-Kats.

Swampy, you need to go to the Giant supermarkets. They’re doing all things bacon. Chocolate-raspberry bacon on a stick, bacon 'tato chips, & bacon ice cream among other things. They even had a bacon apron so you can cook safely while wearing you’re preferred bacon-cooking attire.

Thanks for the snow, Moooooom :stuck_out_tongue:

Is the bacon apron made of bacon?

Supper was edible. That’s about the best I can say for it. Oh, and it was easy to throw together, so there’s that, too.

So endeth my long weekend, I think. No word yet about the base opening tomorrow. Hope something is posted before I go to bed.

I’m going to make dog biscuits tonight. I got some suet from work, and fat sliced off roasts at work. I’ve rendered out the fat, to make more suet cakes for birds. The meat that remains I’ll grind up and mix with some other stuff to make dog biscuits. It’s been a long time since I make them, I hope Nathan will like them.

Tacos for supper. Something different. Gotta get back in work mode.

No, that’s the Lady Gaga Special Edition.
Having some chocolate, some liquid chocolate. Mmmm, nummy.
Baker, where in KS are you? Iffn you had asked for a party just a few weeks earlier, I would have been able to come out to Kansas City the end of this month but flights are too expensive now.

Washington DC. Note location and usual weather. Plus they need all of us at work during the summer months so they can come around and tell us what a great job they are doing. Nuff said.

We had snow, rain, freezing rain, some hail. Tomorrow is overcast with a chance of locusts and frogs. Winter in W PA is like that sometimes.

I’m in Topeka, about an hour, more or less, from KC.

Showered and ready for beddy-bye! Still don’t know what’s happening tomorrow - I may be late anyway if the rain overnight doesn’t take care of the snow at the end of my drive. We shall see.

Anyway, MWAH!!

Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. We had a good crowd tonight. Enough so da bear had to go scramble around to find extra steak knives. Anywho a good time was had by all, and that’s what counts.

'Tis rainy out like as predicted. Fine by me. This shall make sleepy time even better.

Speakin’ of which, OYKW is already abed and shortly I shall join him.

Nitey Nite Y’all!
