Well, I’m awake because yet again I have to go in early to work.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s my Firday.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 66 and sunny for the day. Should be a pleasant day which is good cause da bear gets to go to the south forty for pretty much the whole day. Matter of fact I shall head there from da cave first thing this mornin’. Rah.
{{{CupCakes}}} eek! Here’s hopin’ for a much calmer 'hood from now on out.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, purtification for irk must commence. At least tomorrow is irk from da cave day.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
(((((CupCakes))))), that sounds like a scary thing, I hope things have calmed down now. It’s a good thing your neighbour thought to look around your property too, I’m sure you wouldn’t have wanted to find a stray firearm stuffed in a hedge. We fortunately don’t get any of that kind of excitement round my way, we do sometimes hear loud rapid bangs late at night and the question is usually “guns or fireworks?”…we settle for fireworks and hope we’re right.
I has had a busy week, this new job is really two jobs and it is certainly making sure my days go quickly. It’s not drafting work, Moooooom, but if you’re not busy I’m happy to send you something! I’ve been creating sites on our virtual learning environment where I can upload material for our external examiners to look through before they come for the summer exam boards. If it was just essays and feedback, it wouldn’t be so bad but the amount of supporting documentation is looking silly, especially since there are huge chunks of stuff I just can’t find anywhere.
One of the music examiners also has a VPN because he gets videos of rehearsals and conducting/performance, and he also gets quite large sound files for music composition which gives me another lot of stuff to look for and upload. It’s a good job I have a plentiful supply of tea to get me through the days.
Wow, Baker. Was anyone injured when the shots first sounded?
I’ve been awake 90 minutes already because the [furry, four-legged] old lady I live with decided she was hungry. Right now she’s watching a squirrel and some birds fight over some bread.
Blurf!
Happy Thorsday!
It’s 26 degrees outside and supposed to get up to 35. I don’t know what happened to the warmer temps were are supposed to be getting.
I’m going to feel like hell again today because I’ve been awake since 3am.
Blurf.
About 30F here, but supposed to double-down to 60 by the afternoon and stay warm until Sunday, when the rains return.
Eye Doctor appointment today, it’s been about 15 months so I suspect he’ll have a new prescription for me…not that my sight is bad, but I have noticed some modest problems reading small scripts, but that may be as much a function of age as eye problems. We’ll see.
I think I mentioned that I was planning to celebrate my retirement with a trip to China, but my friend who is a travel agent just had a cancellation for one for his trip to South Africa…and it’s always more fun to be with friends, so I told him I’ll take it…so China gets moved to 2017, which is not a bad thing, since it will be expensive to do all I plan to do and having a year to work out retirement finances may be better in the long run.
Still have a 4-hr. class to complete on-line to keep my bosses out of trouble…even if I’ll be done working before it would be any use to me. Love Bureaucratic thinking…
Butters glad you weren’t home for that and glad nobody (apparently) was hurt.
It’s Thursday which is oh so much closer to Friday. WOOHOO!!!
It was more I couldn’t see to get around the car to get into the house.
::takes three giant steps away from Nettie:: before I start to scratch. :o
I dunno, untraceable (to you) firearms can be of some assistance is solving certain problems. :o
I’m glad you were out of harm’s way, baker.
Good luck on your interview tomorrow, Moooom.
After four weeks of being behind at irk, now I’m bored.
TSSR It was Baker** aka Cup cakes** who had the shootout in the neighborhood. My neighborhood is nice and pleasant so far.
I went to another Air Show meeting today. It is a huge undertaking. Huge.
I came back to my office and paid a couple vendors and now I am without much to do. I do have a new guide book to the interface I could read. Sounds so exciting, not.
Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived. YAY! Dindin tonight shall be roast beast (did it in the slow cooker overnight so now ‘tis warmin’ up), roasted N.O.T. and carrots, roastin’ as I post, and butter beans (cookin’ also as I post). I shall also bake up some rolls in the convection oven in a bit. YUM! I didn’t tell OYKW what I was makin’ but I’m sure he figured out it involves roast beast as he could smell it this mornin’.
WHAT A DAY!!! I am so ready for this interview tomorrow after the fiasco that was Thursday. The NMCI internet was dead till after lunch, I had almost no work to do till after 1, and I had to get the IT guy to move my files because apparently those of us who create drawings can’t be trusted to move them.
So glad to be home and SOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to the interview (I said that, didn’t I?) I’ll meet **FCD **for lunch before I go since he plans to work half a day. And if I get this job, I’m going to take a week off between the two just to chill and veg and stuff.
**FCD **asked around about this place where I’ll be interviewing - he said they’re really busy. I can’t imagine!!
I’ve got some Polish sausage cooking for supper - no clue what to make for sides. I’m just to frazzled to care. But our trees are down and our stump is ground and life is good.
We ordered subs for dinner.
I really want some sour beef and dumplings but I’m not making that, and I have no idea where to get them in this area. Next time I go down to the armpit I’ll get some.
Somebody should tell the delivery people not to put strong smelling deodorizers in their cars. The bag smelled so badly of deodorizer it was making me ill. I should be smelling steak sub, not some fake crap that is unidentifiable. Ugh, as bad as putting scented candles on a table in a restaurant.
Good luck on he interview FCM
Dindin has been ingested. I done good! OYKW was so impressed he told me to go sit down while he washes dishes, etc. Thus chillage ensues.
MOOOOOOM still crossin’ appropriate/inappropriate appendages re the interview tomorrow.
I got off work, walked Gordie, and now it’s beer time. Hockey on TV in a bit.
Ice cream is good. Carry on.
Bet ya I can make you itch with just one word. Ready?
Lice! Shiver, ugh. The kids have had them from school a few times. All I have to do is hear the word before I start wondering about that faint itch on my head. That wasn’t even there before.
FCM good luck tomorrow! All appendages crossed.
Wind damaged one side of the house last night. Water was coming in around a window from the rain. I think we’ve got one more storm coming through tomorrow, then things can dry out enough for me to check the roof and the siding to figure out where the water is coming from.
I am grumpy today. So blurf.
Happy Thorsday.
Gonna go veg. I can’t brain no more today.
MWAH!
One more early day tomorrow, then the weekend! I took my dog Nathan to the park, the weather was so nice, although the winds were strong.
FCM, good luck!
swampy, don’t taunt us with ice cream.
ddsun, your post did make me itch! * Brrrr*.
