After work tomorrow we’re headed out for a weekend history event. Damn George Washington and his winter visit to New France. Weather will be cold and wet which beats ice I guess.
Blurf. Up unusually early but I can’t head out for work yet as I will be at the Vet at their opening. Poor Louie was in pain last night from his monthly anal gland problem so I’ll get him fixed up first thing and get his nails trimmed for a two-fer.
I have a huge Zone inspection on both my buildings on Moanday so I have to finalize a couple small repairs and some cleaning today. Will be so glad to have this inspection over with for a year. I am also very happy today is Firday. Tis been a long week.

I am pleased to report that we are once again able to be pirates after I went shopping last night and replenished the rum stocks. Can’t believe we ran out of white and dark rum at the weekend after the cocktail night, that is just too much. So now we are just short of brandy and Southern Comfort so that’ll be going on the list for next week.
Just so you’re not too worried about us, I did buy foodstuffs as well

Today is irk from home day. I have a lot of paper irky stuff to do plus a two hour conference call mid mornin’. Guess I’ll have a chance to brush up on my Solitaire and Free Cell skills. 
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I should also purtify somewhat because one ought to be semi-presentable even if one is irkin’ from home.

It’s 28 degrees outside, supposed to get up to a whopping 35. Then tomorrow is supposed to be 60 - we’ll see, because this week has been as warm as was predicted.
I managed to sleep until after 5am, so I’m not so grumpy.

Up, caffeinated. and sheveled. I’m off today. it’s 29 right now, but it’s supposed to hit 53 today.

I went berserk(ish) on our IT dudes (yes, us IT people have IT people too) and they finally got off their asses, we now have working phones. With a few more grunts and growls, we might get assigned computers instead of loaners and access to the systems we need to be able to access in, oh, a few more weeks…

Got up to find no hot water for bathing (or anything else, either). Appears that the pilot light is out, but you can light this one the ‘old-fashioned’ way, there are knobs to be turned and buttons to be pressed and igniters to ignite…I’ll do it when I get home. No gas leak and my gas heater is still working, so just 7-8 years of (mostly) benign neglect have led to a cold bath this am.
Forgot my Dry Cleaning again! Will have to get it down to the place tonight (if I can get the water heating) or Saturday, lest I run out of shirts.
Eye Doctor changed my prescription a bit, but my insurance covers a bit more than last year so I’ll co-pay less than I did in December 2014 (last time I wnet).

This is the final weekend of some stressful stuff that make me feel bad, and that I’ve been dreading. I am just so over this ridiculousness! The rain has cleared up and it’s warm and sunny out there. I’m currently enjoying my morning caffeine and pep talking myself into a better attitude for the day.

I am so aggravated with irk. Our maintenance dept. is a f@#$ing joke. Looks like two of the guys that “promised” me they would be here today to change light bulbs (tall ones) and fix a leaky sink have decided to be out sick. WTF. Bunch of losers. If I were their boss I would fire the whole lot and start over?
Got Louie to the vet and $150 later he is feeling better. The Vet said the color of the expressed fluid is off, indicative of infection so he got a long acting antibiotic shot that alone was $53. No more pets ever.
Like the new guy sitting next to me who keeps schnorking in. Here’s a tip…BLOW YOUR DAMN NOSE ALREADY!!! :mad:

Oh, JDD had the locks changed on his brother’s house this mornin’. This should lead to some fine drama. I just can’t wait! OYKW and I are goin’ over to meet JDD and Partner at bro’s house to assist them in a cleanup effort. I promised assistance in determinin’ what is carnival glass and what is crystal. Also, to go through stuff to determine what is for real copper and pewter. I know there’s lots of carnival glass, crystal, copper, and pewter, but there’s also some of the fake stuff.
They will owe us biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig time for that!

Today girl child is going over to a friend’s house. They are having a Miyazaki film festival with their buddies. I voted for Howl’s Moving Castle, but I won’t be there.
A few errands to run. Dinner with my uncle who is visiting from out of town. Probably a slow day.
Boring day here - so boring I have logged back into irk.
I got a People magazine in the mail, with my name on it. I never subscribed to it and am really not interested in it either. Then I again, according to some on this board, I am seriously lacking in cultural ‘garbage’. Quite frankly, I’ve never understood being concerned about the life of ‘celebrities’, they are doing a job, just like the rest of us and none of us are on the cover of magazines.
WTF is it with people in cars running from the cops? In Topeka here, for the second time in two weeks, there was a police chase and the runner slammed into another car, killing someone. I’t s always someone else, not the runners, who in both cases had only minor injuries.
Sure, maybe there was a warrant out on you, but getting stopped for that is a hell of a lot better than being in jail with murder charges against you. The dude who killed someone yesterday, and critically injured another, had two passengers, one adult and his eight-month old son. Now daddy will be in jail for a long time, probably not just with murder charges but child endangerment as well. Serves him right.
I need to stop watching the news, it’s too depressing. Either innocent people are getting killed, or there’s news about the presidential election process.
