World of Pokercraft SDMB 2nd quarter

And tonight’s results are:

Drum rolllllll…

  1. Me
  2. Dag
  3. Yeti
  4. Duck
  5. Ast
  6. Root

and keeping the couch warm…

  1. Oso

YO Oso!!!

Actually, it is still a bit dank and dark down here:

1 Duke of Rat 72.9
2 Dag Otto 68.9
3 Miss Take 59.5
4 Robot Arm 50.7
5 Yeticus Rex 49.4
6 Oslo Ostragoth 31.3

Whatever my shortcomings in our games, I must be learning something: 35/2735 for a shiny new quarter in the freeroll Friday night. This one went really fast - people were cashing in Level 7.

Here’s a couple of hands I loved:

Here’s a couple of hands I hated:

He apologized in the chat box.

By the way, some of these guys are morons:

Hello all.

I hope you don’t mind me poking in here real quick. Just need to ask a question and maybe a few follow-ups, nothing worth starting a whole new thread for in my opinion.

What book(s) would you recommend for NLHE, LHE, and PLO tournaments? Books for beginners preferably, but a little intermediate strategy mixed with beginning strategy won’t hurt. Or will it?

I don’t want to read everything that’s out there, because then I’ll just spend the rest of my life reading poker books. :stuck_out_tongue:

I want the best of the best. Training tools, not just “here’s a few successful recipes, try 'em out.” Make sense?

Thanks.

That’s some gutsy wagering on that first hand you posted. You had a pair of nines. The flop was suited, with two overcards, and a bettor in front of you, and you raised. It’s not hard to imagine that hand ending very differently.

CInB, I rather liked the Harrington on Hold’em series, but I think that covers no-limit only. I can’t recommend anything for the others.

Tonight’s results:

  1. Yeti
  2. Duck
  3. Oslo
  4. Root
  5. Dag
  6. Missy
  7. Ast

Standings:

1 Duke of Rat 73.3
2 Dag Otto 65.1
3 Yeticus Rex 61.7
4 Miss Take 55.1
5 Robot Arm 50.6
6 Oslo Ostragoth 37.9

IIRC, both of those guys were playing very loose/aggressive, and were as likely to play and raise with 72o as an actual hand. I felt like I had the best hand, and I did.

Sometimes you gotta break the eggs to make an omelet …

I’m speechless.

Going back to the M casino with the wife this time…for Thursday night stay (but might possibly bump it up to Wednesday night due to kid sitting issues), so I am 50-50 on being at next week’s game.

M casino…Mmmmmmmm.

(and yes, I told the wife about Bread Girl.)

It’s gonna be a small game this week. I’m taking a class on Thursday evenings for the next month-and-a-half. But I’ll be back.

Even smaller. Sorry I had to bot, but a old friend called who was in town for the night so off for a beer or two I went.

Results tonight:

1 Oso arises from the dank, dark basement
2 The Duck
3 The ast from the past
4 The miss of the take
5 Dag botto

Excellent heads-up game, which had a lot of see-saw action, and lasted through several levels.

The standings this quarter:

1 Duke of Rat 72.4
2 Yeticus Rex 61.7
3 Dag Otto 60.4
4 Miss Take 52.5
5 Robot Arm 50.6
6 Oslo Ostragoth 48.5
7 Asterion 35.1

And the hand of the night, in which Duke demonstrates to Dag that he don’t take kindly to bots:

Bam!

Bully!

No one else?

Don’t you guys want a n00b, who only thinks he knows what he’s doing to join your game? Easy money. I swear.

I’ve never read any books, but then again I play like it.

Dag, I think that was the best flop I ever got vs a bot. Really paid off, too!

I played one or two tournies with you guys a couple years ago, and I’ve been watching the National Heads Up Championship on Hulu, so I’m maybe thinking about getting back in.

Where are you guys playing at now?

At the Microgaming sites. I think most of us are at CrazyPoker, but I’m pretty sure that all the Microgaming sites play at the same tables.

And CIB, you are welcome to join.
