Dood.
You are more than welcome.
Dood.
You are more than welcome.
Some of us have read a lot of books; some of us have read none. So you might read Harrington on Holdem, maybe Phil Gordon’s stuff. (IMHO)
You just need to play. A **lot **of hands.
Books aren’t really a cure-all - you have to know your opponents and how you want to play against them. For instance, Duke of Rat is a riverrin’ m’fer. If you have a hand against him, get it in before the river.
MissTake may be our resident expert on Omaha - I don’t play it.
So, enter some freerolls and play tight as hell until you win enough to play our weekly game. New players are definitely welcome!
Hmm, we’ve got interest from a couple new players just when I step away for a bit. There are two ways I could take that.
Four handed tonight and we still make the break. A good game with everyone seesawing back and forth from big stacks to small stacks and back again.
Standings:
1 Duke of Rat 69.6
2 Dag Otto 63.7
3 Yeticus Rex 61.7
4 Miss Take 53.5
5 Robot Arm 50.6
6 Oslo Ostragoth 45.6
7 Asterion 35.1
The river got me but good:
A few hands later:
Sorry about missing the games, guys…my son’s baseball team is in the playoffs and have been somewhat successful…we took out the first place team (Twice!) and won 4 out of our last 5 games.
Tonight, we play my son’s best friend’s team…who handed us our collective asses in the one loss we had in the last 5. Hopefully our pitching will be up to snuff this time around. So again, my apologies for missing out on “Hawt Poker Action”.
I was a few seconds late to the show… but that was okay as the show was cancelled. Only Oslo and dag were there.
We went to PokerStars and played a SnG with faux money. Dag went out first, I fluffed it so to help TheKid with homework, leaving O to clean up.
WHERE WERE YOU GUYS??
Well, we didn’t get our collective asses handed to us, but we did come back from 6 run deficit in the first two innings only to come up short…6-5, with our tying run at 3rd base. We’re proud of our boys for fighting back and the last two weeks have been the most fun all season.
Hell yeah.
Sorry. Two weeks ago I couldn’t get server response and this week I was busy. However, two weeks ago I did take down $60+ in a razz tournament. Thought I was going to win and then went on a real unlucky streak heads-up. I’m currently in a HORSE tournament where I’m real close to the money, though the payouts are lower.
I’m taking a class; three weeks down, four to go. I’ll be back.
I slammed the freeroll again tonight for twenty cents (96/2532). It’s tough to advance when you have 1.5 x BB.
Where ya playing?
So, the sick chick won. Pretty sad.
1st - Me
2nd - Oslo
3rd - Dag
4th - Yeti

6 Oslo Ostragoth 47.4
7 Asterion 35.1

I don’t think I have a chance of catching Duck if you guys don’t bother showing up. That’s 2 weeks a a row without a game.
How much is Duck paying you to stay away?
I hope to have my computer issues resolved by then. My “upgrade” from Win2000 to XP is looking more like a horrible idea, and I haven’t found any way to uninstall XP.
I had no idea I was single-handedly keeping the game going. I’ll be back soon, I promise.
Admit it, I was easy pickings. You sharks don’t have quite as much fun without a fish.
And I was at the annual hootenanny Thursday.
I’m back, not as sick as I was the last game, and ready to take some pennies.
I’m sad - a friend brought his laptop. Yes, I did try to find internet connection. In a hay field.
I’m up another 20 shiny pieces of zinc alloy from the freeroll Saturday. Dag cheered me on after busting out himself. The best hand was when my initial stack was down to 700 or so. I had pocket KK and got it all in with 3 or 4 callers. The flop was Kxx, and the rest was history. Then, after we had made the money, I was very short-stacked and got all-in with KQ. The flop was Kxx and the extra chips kept me alive for another 5 cents.
