I have a level 60 Undead Mage on Thunderhorn. I’ll do a /played next time I login. But I did quite of bit of “helping out the young’uns” in my rise to the top, so it may be skewed.
I also have a level 38 Tauren Druid on Thunderhorn.
What’s kind of weird is about two weeks ago I took a trip out of state, and I haven’t really logged in since I got back. Just feel totally burned out on WOW.

Except my Alliance miners are on hiatus, because Ironforge sucks giant donkey dong and while I HAVE to go there for some things, I refuse to actually try to get into the AH because I’ll be drawing Social Security before the lag lets me move.

Or mine. Not that I’m surprised. One of these days I’ll make an alt to join one of the doper guilds–I just wanna get one of my current characters up to level 60 first, and that druid don’t count.
(jayjay, enjoying Lagforge I see? I recently discovered an actual advantage to my crappy video card–I never get lag indoors, so I don’t have much of a problem with Ironforge, but instead of actual lag it just takes a while for everything to show up. Everything can look fine and when I turn the corner–where’d the walls go?)

Amen. They need to do one of two things:
Make an Auction House network…each capital city of each faction gets an Auction House, and the AHs of each faction are all interlinked. If you spread the crowding between three different cities, it’ll cut down on the lag bigtime.
Make it possible to turn off other peoples’ toons in your view.
Auction houses in every major city (Org. TB, UC on the horde side and IF, SW… um I don’t play alliance) are slated for a future patch.

Close to what it took my first character. Best thing to do is to get two characters going and get double the rested bonus in a sense because you’re switching between the two (assuming you want more than one character, I have a level 60 hunter and 50 priest which is fun). It took me about 450 hours to get to 60, and as DeadlyAccurate said the second time through is easier, my priest is at 50 in 150 hours.

“A future patch” is delightfully vague! Christmas is coming “at a future time”…
The problem with spreading out the AH is that people will then be in 3 cities looking for groups, which will make it painful to put together a raid. If they do do this they need to put in a LFG tab so you can find people.
I don’t know about other servers, but Frostwind has two channels made by players that are worldwide… channel “worlddefense” and “world”. No one really uses them much though, but I see people joining the channels and eventually leaving the channels all the time. Since these work worldwide, it wouldn’t be too hard to come up with a channel to get raid groups together. You’ll just have to spread the word.
