World Of Warcraft Account Names/Servers

I’m Alliance-side Elune server mainly, though my guild’s Horde-side server is Uther (we rarely play that side thus far, however)

Cerridanae - 60 human warlock (got to Master Sgt. in pvp rank this week! )
Aliandra - 34 Night Elf Hunter
Karii - 27 gnome mage
Damara - 9 human priest
Morrigania - 6 human warrior
Kerowynne - 1 human rogue (my AH mule atm)

On Uther (which again, I rarely play on), I have

Swan - 18 Tauren druid
Inkosazana - 9 troll shaman

I just started on Scarlet Crusade. I am completely inept. Night Elf Hunter, lvl 15, named Slang. I don’t think there’s anyone on my server, or is there? Send me a /tell if so, it’s lonely here.

Anyone lonely could come play with me on Cenarius if they’d like. I’ve gotten to know quite a few nice people there. Same way I got to know most of you, ackshully. The community forums are quite the interesting place, they are. Even the whining/griefing threads have their use…

My main is Kharraku, a 28-for-now troll shaman on Cenarius. Waaaaaay better performance for me than Elune, since it’s med-pop. and on the west coast.
All you alliance players gots no guts. Wanna challenge, play for the Horde! Fewer twits ('cause there’s fewer of us), and for those that like a little pvp with their pve like I do…my OG, the HK’s come to your door! In DROVES! If I’d remembered about contrib points for localdefense raid groups, I’d be at least a sargeant by now.

bump…anyone else playing?

I am, just started a couple weeks ago,

Kilrogg server

Drachillix - L12 Human Mage
Drachilla - L8 Human Warrior
?? - L5 Dwarf Hunter (can’t remember his name right now)

Buddy of mine also on Kilrogg

Aerium - L25 Human Paladin, Rock solid team player, I highly suggest teaming with him if you have the opportunity. (He also makes Bags and pouches)

What are contrib points?

I have 3

Gleyven a warlock on the Silver Hand server
Urungus a Warrior on Thunderhorn
Finos a Mage on Scarlet Crusade

I’m in a guild on Scarlet Crusade and we’d be happy to have ya

My son and I both play (one account so we trade off).

I’m on Stormrage:

Tuff, level 60 Gnome Warlock
Fraiser, level 60 Dwarf Hunter

Alts are Dyth, level 30 gnome rogue
Sparhawk level 20 human paly
Charaid level 20 dwarf priest.

To be honest my interest in the game has waned a bit lately (of course, I’ve been playing the game for over 3 years now…since Alpha I). I’m really disappointed in Blizzard for not taking a bit more time in the beta…I think 6 more months and they could have gotten this game out the door with a real PvP system, Battle Grounds and such. Instead we are still waiting on BG’s and there are no plans (from what I can tell) for an expansion, hero classes, etc. I’m on hold till BG’s come out and look forward to checking them out (I was a Knight but have fallen to Sgt due to lack of interest in finding where the latest zerg is), but I doubt they are going to be enough to sustain me long term with this game. I might be putting my characters into the deep freeze until Blizzard gets its shit together on this one.

Its part of the PvP system. You get HK’s or Honor Kills for killing enemy players. Blizzard then does a calculation to determine how many points you earn per kill (based on how much damage you did, how much damage other folks did, how many CP’s were awarded for a given day…the distance to the sun and the moon at any given point in time, the configuration of the entrails of a goat sacrificed every other day and the number of new hairs that sprout from the chin of the CEO of the company calculated on a tuesday).

Check out this link for a list of rewards and a FAQ on how the system is supposed to work.

I’m up to level 25 now. What is your guild’s name? Joined a guild a while back but would be happy to kill annoying murlocs or something. Send me a /tell!

Heh…I signed a charter the other night and I don’t even remember the name of the guild it was for. Or the names of the other signers.

Yay for random charter-signing!

I assume that if that guild gets approval it’ll show up on the guild tab in my social window, right?

Yep. I’m in a guild called Legion of the Baldurwok…seems to be a bunch of folks from the UK (and a bunch of Mac users to boot :)).

I think guilds play a much lesser role than they could have in this game. My guild is always groussing about it on their forum and leaving aside the obvious whinning they are mostly right. A good friends list is as good as a guild…especially if you are in a guild that doesn’t raid much (or that can’t field 15-20 guilded level 60’s to do the various high level instances on a weekend). There is no guild housing or any other sense of ‘connectedness’ yet in the game as far as guilds go.

I would love to have some sort of guild house, with perhaps an NPC to act as a guild banker [anybody can put stuff in and look at stuff, but an officer or designated guild banker can get the stuff out, or something like that. using an alt can be awkward if you dont have 2 accounts and 2 computers and nobody else is in game…]

We do have tabbards, but 1 gold is a bit much for lower level characters, tehy didnt think anybody under 20 was going to get guilded?

I just downloaded the server and client for teamspeak so we can have a guild channel, and we also have a webpage on guildportal.com

I sometimes think you have to do things outside the game in a guild, rather than depend on blizzard doing everything.

I do wish that blizzard would include a teamspeak sort of function, being able to talk to your guild/party/hunting partner instead of typing is just more fun, and lets you pay more attention to playing rather than typing!

I have noticed they are putting some of the cosmos functions into the standard UI…

I’m not sure what you mean about the alt. You mean to use as a banker? If so, I don’t see what the problem is. Mail it and then log on later as your alt to pick it up.

The tabbards are expensive, though I don’t like them anyways–my 41 char doesn’t have one, and she could easily afford it (now that I have access to a level 60 that isn’t being used). I think it’s nice that they’re optional, but they could drop the price to say, maybe 20 silver to make it affordable to low level players.

One nice thing about guilds is the guild chat. I’ve known players that formed their own channels for raids, but for lower level players that not going to happen. So while you’re right that a good friend’s list is about as good as a guild, you can just ask in guild chat “Hey, can someone help me here?” instead of having to send a tell to everyone online. (My Medivh guild is really chatty too, which I like.) It’ll also give you more access to higher level players to run you through quests and instances. Some guilds are mostly useless though. I think about the only time I ever talked to my Blackhand guild was to ask them what colour mechanostrider I should buy, and there were only a handful online anyways.

Things that would make guilds more worthwhile (IMO):

Guild housing with all the customizable bells and whistles

Guild Vendors (for selling things)

Guild PvP ranking and rewards (PvP is all about the individual atm…in fact, you actually get less CP’s if you team up and especially if you raid).

Guild ‘territory’, like a castle or whatever that a guild can claim and defend from the other side…tieing into the PvP guild ranking system.
Perhaps special guild instances, or maybe even special instances in the guild ‘territory’ that only guilded or guests of the guild can enter and explore.

Guild battle standards and perhaps guild NPC’s to act as soldiers and can be at least marginally positioned by the guild for defense of guild territory…and that expand and are enhanced as the guilds PvP ranking raises.

Right now that game has none of that. It has…guild chat, and tabards. Seems a bit…weak…to me.

Just signed on Thursday night…

On Perenolde: I’m Firenzio, level 6 human Paladin

If you want, I’ll start an alt on Perenolde. We could adventure together.

Elune

Alliance
Abbie (just made) 60, Human Rogue, Skinner and Elemental Leatherworker AKA the lost rogue (Last night it took me a miserable 20 to 25 minutes to find my way from the spirit healer to my body in BRD and I wasn’t even inside the instance yet. How totally directionally challenged is that? Note to self: even at 60 it’s not a good idea to take on three 50 elites alone.)
Gabbie 23, Gnome Rogue, Miner and Engineer AKA the cotton candy headed assassin
Abbynorth 21, Human Priest, Tailor and Enchanter

Horde
Abbysmal 9, Undead Rogue, Herbalist and Skinner, who cannot find her way out of the undercity

I’m finding it hard to play horde side even when I’d rather not play the main or her primary alts. I started out playing alone, loved it and got addicted. I became used to playing with a rather focused questing partner (alliance side) who knew the way around the world and now that we haven’t been partnering I cannot seem to go back to playing alone and just plinking around. I know I enjoyed it enough to get addicted to begin with, but I can’t seem to get into my horde characters.

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to motivate myself to continue playing to be honest. The wait time on getting into the Battle Grounds (I’ve actually only been patient enough to get into Alteric once, and even Warsong has a usual wait of around 30 min. for the Alliance on my server) coupled with the fact that folks in PvP now realize what easy picking Warlocks are since they have zero escape abilities (well, we get a 2 second cast Fear…though I’ve yet to be able to cast it when someone takes notice of me) are making the game tedious right now. I’ve never been a raid grinder, going every night to the same instances over and over to get that one last piece of this or that set. For me ‘end game’ meant PvP, Horde Vs Alliance…but the BG’s have been disappointing with the whole queue system. And really, after you’ve captured the flag so many times (or in my case lost so many games as the Alliance just can’t seem to grasp the whole ‘team work’ thingy), it becomes a bit boring. Give me a nice keep siege like in DaoC anytime (not that I liked much else in that game mind you).

Well, at least Blizzard has announced that indeed they will do an expansion this year (though no details on what that means so I’m a bit dubious that they will make it by years end), so I guess I’ll just put my level 60 Warlock and level 60 Hunter on ice until they get their shit together.
