World of Warcraft: Legion general discussion thread 19 July 2016

Finally finished Pathfinder 1. Now only about 8500 rep to unlock flight. After that…hmmm…about 5 more points for a maxed out weapon. Another LFR tier coming, I guess. Might be time to level an alt for a bit…

I hit Exalted with Armies of Legionfall yesterday.

I forgot to remind everyone to get a Repurposed Fel Focuser when you get to Revered; it replaces Oralius’ Whispering Crystal.

When do we get to start raiding Tomb of Sargeras?

I can fly! And it works for my level 100s, too.

Grats Oakminster!

Flying does speed up the questing for alts; I gotta recognize.

I’ve been playing my Orc warrior lately. Lvl 107 already. Flying makes questing go much faster. It’s fun to not be squishy for a change.

And now I’m reliving the pain of being max level with shitty gear. Had to get help to take out a quest mob…one of those undead viking guys that killed me three times before I got a wandering mage to help.

I’m about ilvl790ish at the moment. Any tips on gearing up a fury warrior for heroics? Zones or questlines with good rewards? I look for World Quests with gear drops, queue for random dungeons or battlegrounds occasionally, but maye there’s a quicker way…

My “quickest way” to gear up is to PvP (RBGs) and do dungeon runs. Especially the PvP.

I’m basically biding my time right now waiting for ToS to open up. I go days without playing, actually.

Yeah, I’m waiting for that to go back to my mage. I’ll probably run more battlegrounds with the warrior, they seem to have shorter queues.

Woo! My guild got Mythic Skorpyron last night. Pretty fun and chaotic fight I thought.

Not sure how many Mythic NH bosses we’ll attempt/get before ToS, but looking forward to the attempts

Grats, Clawdio.

Dang. Sometimes I miss progression raiding.

Anyway, I’ve been biding my time (like Snowboarder Bo), but I still tend to log in to attend to “other stuff”: transmog runs, catching up on professions, etc.

I finally got my Underlight Angler (artifact fishing rod). Less involved than I thought, and I seem to have had better luck with the rare-fish achievement than some of the folks on WoWHead have. Only needed a couple evenings of fishing to catch all the rare fish and then the pearl to start the quest chain for the fish pole.

But now I have another artifact to farm AP for. This may have been a mistake.

Filling out the three golden traits of the fishing pole is pretty quick, but beyond that it gets reallllllly slow. If you find rusty queenfish brooches or ancient vrykul rings, the AP farm gets significantly easier, especially as the effects get further lengthened the more AP your pole has. But then you’re spending a lot of time just doing nothing but fishing.

Speaking of AP grinds being reallllllly slow, it looks like Blizz has decided to cap AK at 40 points rather than 50, so we’ll be losing [del]a raid tier[/del]* 10 levels of AP multiplier. Because there was some danger we wouldn’t be grinding enough, I guess.:dubious::rolleyes:

Quoting:
[Quote=22 May hotfix patch notes]
[ul]
[li]Artifact Knowledge can now be researched to a maximum level of 40 (was 50).[/li][/ul]Developers’ Notes: We raised the Knowledge cap from 40 to 50 very late in the 7.2 PTR cycle, out of an abundance of caution: We wanted to ensure that players of all playstyles, as well as alt characters, would view the Concordance trait as accessible. However, between the additional Artifact Power gains added in 7.2 and others that were hotfixed in after the patch released, we’re now well ahead of that mark. Knowledge 40 now seems more than sufficient for players to reach Concordance, and the prospect of months’ worth of additional Knowledge still left to research makes some players feel like their efforts in the interim aren’t meaningful. Therefore, we’re rolling the cap back to 40.

So, I’m thinking that all 50 levels of Concordance is going to be a fucking fantasy for almost anyone. At this rate, just unlocking Concordance is going to be grindier than my grindiest nightmare.

*sorry, went on autopilot for a second

Yipes. Yeah, agreed that 50 points of Concordance will be a fantasy.

I’m about 25% into my Concordance point right now (52nd point I think) I’m planning on getting that and then just taking whatever AP I get as it comes, since the buzz seems to be that Concordance is weak anyway, and that the grind above the first point isn’t worth the effort at all.

Has it always been ilvl825 for heroics? I thought it used to be 815 as recently as when I was gearing up my mage a few months ago…

If you mean item level required to queue, it’s in the 7.2 patch notes:

Started heroics and LFR on the warrior today. He’s in Burning Dog Legion on Cairne, but I rarely see anyone online. I’m doing a lot more damage on the warrior that I was at similar ilvls with the mage. Not sure why.

Getting annoyed with the grind to get flying - of course, six months of being hardly able to play, much less queue for groups, really slowed me down in regards to my usual progress.

Taking some time out to level an alt through Panderia and Draenor just for fun and profit (man, the price of game tokens has REALLY gone up!).

Game balance  Give it a couple more patches and the pendulum will swing again.

When they announced Destiny 2 would be available on Battle.net and that bnet tokens purchased using WoW gold could be used to buy it, they more or less doubled in price.

Oh, is that what happened…?

Fortunately, panther mounts are still selling briskly on Thunderlord. I’m selling 1-2 a week at around 40-45k profit each. It would be fun to hit the gold limit, but then, what else would I spend it on anyway? I guess the monthly cost is to keep me from being too rich (and it’s still been years since my gold hoard has been less than six digits). Plus all the other crap I’ve been selling on the AH.

Fuck you, Chromie. Stay dead.

ETA: Every single on the the PvP “Brawls” has sucked ass. SUCKED ASS.
