World of Warcraft: Legion general discussion thread 19 July 2016

Have you been feeding it artifact power to increase its ilvl and unlock abilities and passives?

Are you progressing with the Broken Shores questline? Those reward 1500 rep a piece and were a huge chunk of my rep progression.

Also, if it’s Darkmoon week, remember to get the +10% rep buff from the carousel or buy top hats.

Also note that the follower missions rewarding rep tokens are pure RNG. My main who was focused on doing the rep grind hardly got any while my alts got tons.

All the quests in the Legionfall Campaign total up about 16,000 rep points. That’s a lot; if you’re barely Honored, that’ will get you nearly 1/2 through Revered right there. (The first half dozen quests in the campaign are setups and breadcrumbs, so not very high-payoff, but the rest are 1500 each.)

For the record, next week is Darkmoon Faire week. Mark your calendar! (In-game, the calendar is already marked, but that usually doesn’t help me.)

Whoa; what a surprise: Temple of Hotmogu sucks ass.

It looks like the jackass dev who brought us Ashran and all these “brawls” is no longer in charge of PvP, so maybe there’s hope for some parity and some fun in the future.

I know I won’t be the first person to say it, but “fuck you Brian Holinka”; you did a shitty job. WoW PvP will be better off without you; it’s hard to imagine how it could be worse.

Geebus. I have never seen a WoW forum thread with so many down-voted posts. Blacked-out posts saying “Thanks for all the good work” right next to hidden posts saying “Take Ashran with you”.

PvPers are a contentious bunch, even in places closer to IRL (like a forum).

I didn’t even know who he was until yesterday. I was in a “brawl” and said that I was surprised that Temple of Kotmogu could possibly be made a worse game when someone else on the team mentioned that the “brawls” and warrior’s current invincibility in PvP were the last parting gift of Holinka. He explained who he was talking about and then I looked him up.

One of my max-levels just cleared the Class Hall research to enable a 7th Champion on the active roster. That meant activating one of the disabled ones. Because she covered what I perceived as a skill hole in my line-up (AoE coverage, I think), I picked a not-quite-level 110 champion and quickly got her up to 110.

The rest of my lineup is 110 and ilevel 900.

I am rarely seeing any missions that reward follower equipment, and all of those are for non-armor equipment. I need armor tokens; the champion I activated is too low ilevel to contribute to coverage in any of the mission I’m getting which are universally ilevel 850 or higher.

As a Priest, I do have the hall research that allows buying into a queue for champion items, but armor is also coming up very rarely there too.

There’s a theory that you stop getting armor in missions and mostly in production queue once most of your champions are at or near ilevel cap. Which is nice if you can’t use armor tokens any more; you want those drop opportunities to furnish stuff like % success buff tokens. But “all my champions are max ilevel” is very different from “almost all my champions are max ilevel”.

Am I slightly screwed, stuck settling with a useless champion until enough low-frequency armor drops allow me to make her competitive again? (NB: I need 115 points of ilevel. Or, in perspective, 8 max-upgrade tokens, which drop almost never.)

If this “no more armor token missions if most of your champions are max ilevel” would be a terrible design choice by Blizz, if true. And also, not the first.

I logged in this morning before work, just to do a couple quick things, and got Kil’Jaeden’s Burning Wish from a Broken Shore cache!

On all the sims this seems to be BiS trinket for enhance by a ton, so I’m excited to try this baby out. Especially in Mythic+.

GRATS! Man, it’s sweet when RNG gives you a big ol’ kiss! “Luck, be a lady tonight!”

(Generally RNG stubs out her cigarettes on my forearm, but I did luck into a couple of sweet legendaries for my MM hunter, so I’m generally content with her. For now.)

Has the WoD expansion been nerfed? I’m leveling my hunter now (95), poorly geared and not really familiar with the beast mastery spec, but I find myself 2-shotting quest mobs regularly. Burning through LFG dungeons too. Seems almost trivial…

I got flying!
I got flying!
I got flying!
I got flying!
I got flying!
I got flying!

So, maybe, you’re like, flying now?

Congratulations.

It does make stuff a lot easier, doesn’t it?

Username/post combo reveals you to be a witch!

(Congrats by the way.)

Anyone else try out Black Temple timewalking this week?

It was kinda fun to see some stuff I haven’t seen since the end of BC when I got in a few pugs (my guild never made it to BT).

I think it took about 2 hours to clear the place. We wiped twice: Once on Supremus because we didn’t clear enough trash, and once on Illidan (at 3%). Otherwise it was pretty much a steamroll. It was nice that even some of the drops were usable for people, especially with the 915 titanforging.

So the final wing of the Tomb of Whathisface opened to raid finder this week. I hate the final boss fight. It’s a mechanics nightmare. Certain things have to be done perfectly or the raid wipes.

Finally got tired of grinding gold all month to pay for ever more expensive game tokens and actually paid real money for some game time.

Am now relaxing. When and trashed some old raids, had some fun one-shotting Bosses that used to grind down my party until we lay on the floor as piles of mush even the Lich King couldn’t re-animate.

Also leveling alts and going on hunting/fishing/gathering trips, sight-seeing… all sorts of stuff.

Can I do anything with artifact power after maxing out all three versions of class legendary weapon? I’m running frost on my mage at the moment, seem to do more damage than the other specs.

Maxing out? All three.? :eek::confused:
Are you saying saying you got 101 traits on all three weapons? The grind needed, if it’s even possible, for maxing one would be insane, let alone for all three.

No; it’s easy. Get your Artifact Research all done and you’ll see quests that reward tokens worth enough millions to max out a new artifact. I’ve done just that with 4 toons now (so yeah, they all have all 3 of their Artifacts “complete”).

Just keep dumping it into the Artifacts. I’ve got 3 of my toons at +8 Concordance and 1 at +5. Each point earned is a noticeable difference, IMO.

Getting to Concordance is easy yes, but that is hardly “maxed out”, you still have another 49 levels of Concordance to get at that point, requiring hundreds of trillions of ap.
