Are you talking about “Sky High” by Jigsaw? No anti-love for it, because it’s a great song!
It’s obviously synced, because I sure don’t see those hi-hats moving at the 2-minute mark. Oh, well.

I agree with you about “Ramblin’ Man”, mainly because the AOR station in the city where I grew up played it to death, but “Black Water” is one of da greatest songs ever!
Him by Rupert Holmes, who also gave us the horrible Escape (The Pina Colada Song).
Him is so bad, it’s even worse than that one. The chorus is especially horrendous!
If you mean Paul and John…hardly. John thought Paul’s “Too Many People” was a dig at him (and Yoko). So he countered with a charming little ditty called “How Do You Sleep?” that had all the subtlety of a rifle grenade.
“UA/AH” was Paul being whimsical for its own sake, with not a lot of thought behind. Paul was mostly sizzle but no steak; John a lot of the time (though there are exceptions) was steak but no sizzle. Only together did they really cook.
I actually think “Him” is quite a step up from the Pina Colada Song in terms of the hook, the song structure, the lyrics, the musicianship in general. No, it’s not great, but it’s a damn sight better than the other song this guy is known for - if I had heard it without knowing who it was, I wouldn’t even think it’s the same guy/band. There are parts of “Him” that are actually pretty damn catchy.
I’ve read that Let Me Roll It (from Band on the Run) was Paul’s response to How Do You Sleep. Which is a magnificently angry and vicious song!
Sugarloaf’s “Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You” (circa 1975) was playing at the restaurant where we ate lunch today.
I had mercifully forgotten its mediocre obnoxiousness, including telephone touch-pad noises, dopey lyrics and monotonous refrain. It may not be the worst “dues” song ever recorded, but it’s in the top ten.
Well, thank you everyone! I have now deleted my entire iPod library. I guess I’ll just turn off the TV and listen to my tintinitus.
I liked the song as well. I’ve often wondered how a band convinces the record folks to give them an orchestra for an afternoon. And I’m not saying the lyrics were great, but they were better than a lot of Foreigner’s hits.
That’s who made that song? Didn’t know that.
I’ve always loved their other big hit (that I can think of now), “Green Eyed Lady”, especially the long version.
Oh, it’s so much worse than that for me.
In South Africa, it got used in a film with some added Afrikaans lyrics. It’s now the unofficial anthem for the winelands just outside Cape Town:
