I don’t like this idea at all, mostly because I don’t like Schwartzenegger. I would expect to see a poster of a woman in a bikini or a favorite band in a young man’s apartment.
Like when it starts with “My boyfriend” and we all know it’s you.

I suppose if the dude started waxing poetic about how great a person Arnold was, and how he wanted to be just like him, in every single way, I would be rather turned off. But if he said he liked the Terminator flicks? Eh, wouldn’t even ping my radar. In fact, I like the Terminator flicks - does that mean that I have no self-respect? Hell no, it means I like a certain type of movie.

Ask yourself this question: Are girls kind of creeped about me, already? If the answer is yes, then don’t worry about the poster.
Arnold poster = closeted gay guy, actual gay guy, or bodybuilder. NONE of those things is a turn-on for a heterosexual female. Female pin-up posters indicate other negative traits, as do desktop backgrounds of naked women.
You should probably stick with actual art, or tv show/movie posters. Avoid posters that prominently feature large bodybuilding males, scantily-clad females, or references to gaming and/or esoteric nerdy interests like Star Wars and Doctor Who. Drug posters are probably okay too, if you’re not worried about scaring off the straight-edge crowd.
I dunno about “creeped out”… but if I were a college girl again and visited a guy’s room, and saw that, he’d be mentally moved from the “ooh la la” short list to the “Faaaaaabulous Buddy” list, if you know what I mean.
