There’s a big difference between putting up a poster of Sammy Sosa smashing a home run/Michael Jordan making a slam dunk and a poster of Ahnold in full body oil wearing nothing but a speedo over his tiny steroid balls.

While I can confirm that this would work for me, I still think he’s lowering his chances of getting that far. Dorms are gossipy places, and folks love to spread false interpretations. Whether you want to just hand them fodder is an important decision. There are valid arguments both ways (pre-filtering the jerks from your social life has it’s advantages) but also significant downsides.
I think the poster is great.
Body building is a sport. Watch Pumping Iron, there’s more to it than weight training. There’s a psychological element too. Arnold was brilliant at getting into his competitors heads.
Put up the poster man. Do what ever the fuck you want to do. Don’t listen to the haters. They’re gonna hate no matter what so to heck with them.
If you do make it with a woman, you have to take her hereat some point. I know it’s in Japan but it’s perfect.

i can’t tell if the majority of the responses are just poking fun at you PSX, or in earnest. my friend had a pumping iron poster in his room 3.5 out of the 4 years we were in college and he did just fine with the ladies. a poster- any poster - doesn’t register as a speedbump on the hookup highway. 18-22 year old girls are nothing like the hypercritical older women of the SDMB. when the co-eds see an arnold poster and it just rolls into the “who cares” bin in the back of their minds.
once you’re out of college though, and you’re wooing ladies whose biological clock resynchs with reality it might be a bigger red flag but in college? nahhhhhh…
