I’m pretty sure that’s the only way. JC is much more like Kal-El of Krypton (who, for that matter, is much more like Moses than he is the carpenter’s son).
Well, he knew he was going to be betrayed, by whom, how, and let it happen so his plans could go on. That’s pretty Batmany. That being said, yeah, Jesus probably wouldn’t ever need Jay-shark repellent.
(and now, I’m seeing Jesus going “I am the LIGHT” in a Christian Bale growl)
I would say they have other similarities. Batman is the result of a nonsexual birth, being born as Chill killed his mother and father. He has taken it upon himself to bear the weight of the sins of Gotham. And most importantly, you can’t do a spinning back-kick without turning the other cheek.
Wow, the first bunch of responses were ignorant. Yes, we are given to believe Jesus & his disciples carried swords; this is mentioned in the gospels. Seems likely he would have used whatever personal protection was appropriate in the surrounding cultural & legal context.
You must have a different set of Gospels than the rest of us. Jesus told his disciples to carry a couple of swords only once, only for symbolic reasons and told them not to use them. It was, in fact, illegal for Jews to carry swords under the Roman occupation and the illegality was the point of carrying them to Gethsemane.
Yeah, look how ignorantly they all cited chapter and verse, and quoted the exact passages that supported what they were saying! There’s no way you’d do that if you actually knew what the Bible said!
You do remember how the big guy beat the Phantom Zone villains in SUPERMAN II, right? Something about knowing that a lying weasel like Luthor couldn’t resist the chance to double-cross him?
Not to distract too much, but ammunition of every kind has settled almost every thing. If we look to the Middle East, we may see that it is our cease-fires and treaties, not the guns, that are impotent. Look to Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America.
Not that I am for anybody losing their lives, but, to say that ammo of any sort hasn’t solved anything is not being realistic.
Oh? Name one thing in the Middle East that’s been resolved by violence. Because from my point of view, it looks like the violence is just making everything even more unresolved.
OK, I wont give a primer, too lazy, but, for starters, let’s start with what we call the State of Israel. I believe it was 1948 when violence settled some of the affairs. Someting like who was in charge of, well, what we call the State of Israel! Quick jump to 1967. Who runs Jerusalem? That was resolved in 6 days through some wise negotiations…no wait…a war, I think. Let’s see…what else…oh, you said one thing…
Just because not everybody is happy, doesn’t mean that something isn’t settled.
