This may be GD territory but I don’t spend much time there. I’ll start it here and it can be moved if needed.
I was listening to NPR this morning and they interviewed a McCain supporter that had a line all chosen for recruiting women to his side. He would say that the Democrats abandoned you when they picked Obama over Hillary so you should come over and vote for McCain. (My paraphrase.)
My neighbor has replaced her multiple Hillary yard signs with a single Obama sign. She’s supporting the Democratic candidate but doesn’t seem as obviously thrilled about it.
So - do you think it’d serve the McCain candidacy well if he chose a woman as a running mate? Would he attract a large number of former Hillary supporters or, perhaps, alienate more Republicans?
For the latter, I’m assuming there’s a group of traditional, family-values, older, dominate-your-wife, semi-misogynistic members of the Republicans who might dislike having a woman in a position of power like that.
