While there are a ton of people who vote republican who are decent people, the Party, as an entity, has skewed hard right to cater to the most radical and basest instincts of their voters. They have done this because they now see that what those voters are looking for is Trump (or someone like him) and his brand of non-governance. The Party knows that unless they embrace chaos as a brand, the GOP will die a sniveling death. Look for it to get much, much worse.
