I’ve been keeping a weblog. I am also bipolar, and I know I’ve seen a lot of threads asking what it is like to be mentally ill- my weblog would be pretty good insight into this particular disorder. I also put a lot of care into writing this and would like some feedback on my writing style. . So I’d like to post a thread linking to my weblog (with an explaination of why it might be of interest).
Would this be appropriate, or would it fall under the “No Spam” rules? Also, would it better belong in MPSMS, Cafe Society (since it is crafted prose that I’d appriciate some critique of) or IMHO with a “Ask the Bipolar Girl” thread attached (which I’d attend to)?
The best thing to do when you are unsure if a thread is appropriate is to email one of the mods and ask them first. Personally, I don’t see any problem with your idea, but the mods might feel differently, and I cannot speak for them.
Yep, go ahead. And I’d vote for IMHO as an “Ask the bipolar girl” (sounds like a superhero name, doesn’t it?) thread with link. Sometimes the forum distinctions are fuzzy, of course.
And let me echo Q.E.D.'s comments – it’s best to email a moderator to ask whether something is appropriate, rather than post. That way, if the answer is “No”, you’re not publicly embarrassed.
