Would UK Dopers like to stand up and be counted?

Scot here, abiding in the lovely Aberdeen. I too like the American slant to the board. It’s good to hear about life elsewhere. Although, I must admit, I do enjoy the discussions about British aspects of life. Short lived, and rare as they are.

An Ulsterman I am proud to be, from Antrim Glens I come!

Born in Paddington, lived in Bristol, Lincoln, Northallerton, Whitstable and Oxford. Do I qualify?

The bear or the station?

I’m not British but I live in the UK; do I qualify? +1 in that case, otherwise, move along, nothing to see here.

American in England wondering why there are so many damned roundabouts in a row in the south of Milton Keynes. 20 roundabouts? Cor, they drive me crackers! Barmy even.

If you don’t like roundabouts, don’t go to Cornwall: they have multiple roundabouts, where you go from one roundabout to another before you get on your chosen road.

Your real name isn’t Dick van Dyke, is it?

Blimey guv, a score? You missed a few. There’s over 300, south, north, east, west. Roundabouts are actually popular as part of the ‘grid’ road system, off peak you can drive right across town without stopping, can you do that anywhere else in Britain?
Yeah, I’m a bit partisan, been in MK a while now. BUT I’M STILL A LONDONER REALLY.

And definitely don’t go to Swindon, where you might have to negotiate this.

Actually, just don’t go to Swindon at all.

Scot in London here.

Don’t suppose you could hook me up with a supply of butteries? These philistines in Glasgow don’t even know what they are!

68 minutes. Not bad, not bad ;).

Quoi?

It’s the time between the two posts. Why that’s not bad, I’m not sure.

I make it 31 minutes though.

Count me as another UK resident, but antipodean by birth, safely ensconced in the shire of the Hamps

Si

If you’re missing the opportunity to get all your daily salt and fat requirement in one tasty, handy roll, you could try the freshly baked section at Tesco. My local one sells them (to whom I have no idea) in Edinburgh.

I’m another UK resident, although not UK-born.

Because there is a well-known SDMB law that whenever the subject of roundabouts in Britain comes up, a link to the “magic roundabout” must be posted shortly afterwards. 68 minutes (8:53 to 10:01) is not the record, but it’s a decent enough time.
