Would y'all STOP IT!

And I’m not even going to apologize for shouting.

There have been a few threads where the title has implied that something truly awful has happened, then when you read the OP, either it’s not that bad, or it’s even good news.

Frinstance, Mr. Bear started this one this morning:
I have some sad news to report about Purplebear . Crunchy Frog had also perpetrated this misdeed.

Not only are you scaring the #! out of us, but it makes me sad to see the title, even when I know what’s going on.

The next time I see someone do this, I’m going to visit the poster and bitch-slap them.

I’ll drive. We can’t hurt Mr. Bear until purplebear’s done with him, though (and I’m not sure how much of him will be left by then).

Seriously, I hate this too. Stop it, guys.

I have to agree also. It can be pretty annoying. I know its used to draw attention to the threads but maybe people could be a little more considerate and not scare the other posters. Especially in the case of purplebear who is so well known and liked.

Grrrrr… some days, like today, for instance, my 'puter is slow to load a page. This gives me plenty of time to bite off a nail or two while I wait. Next person to start a thread with an alarming title owes me a manicure, dammit!

Zyada, I can understand your frustration at this. I’m sorry for my part in this. But, lighten up some too, ok? After all, at least for Mr Bear’s thread, it shows me that he’s really becoming a regular member of the board, and really understanding the people here.

It made me feel good to see that thread today.

Balance, no comment. You’ll just have to wait and see. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you, Shanin, for your compliments. I agree, he needn’t have put it quite so strongly, I suppose.

Tabithina, I’m so sorry to hear about your manicure problems. I hope we haven’t added to them too much.

Whoops, sorry.
