Would you be uncomfortable sharing meat space with troglodyte homophobes?

Funny, that’s the rule for hot women, too for hetrosexual men. A corner of the eye peek is appreciated by all but the most perverse. But no obvious drooling or touching, and if you are going to try communication, try it respectfully - which includes treating the human being in question like a human being - not a sex toy.

Well, little boy trolls have different parts from little girl trolls. And even if they like trolling their little boy troll parts all over other little boy trolls rather than little girl trolls, they trolling don’t have different troll parts to begin with.

Oh, except for those trollish 90s buildings with their ‘unitroll’ bathrooms - those were kind of troll.

I see. So even sitting next to someone who doesn’t share your views on human sexuality offends you. How tolerant you are. How multicultural you are. How progressive you are.

But I get it. It’s “just the way you are made and you can’t help it.”

It’s obvious you’re no more tolerant than us tea party conservatives.

Its amazing you gays (and supporting Liberals) dont see the hypocrisy and irony in all this

A thought occurred to me to post in the gym locker thread “This is as hypocritical as white people not being allowed to say ‘nigger’!” while simultaneously (well, with a minute delay, given the board’s rules) posting in ombre12’s GD thread “This is as hypocritical as demanding gyms divide their locker rooms by gender but not orientation!”

It would be my satirical attempt at cross-pollination, with the goal of having the threads merged into a super-hybrid of trollery and stupidity that I will call… a lie-durr!
Of course, just describing the idea is likely to be more satisfying than actually attempting it, which I expect would get a reaction ranging from anticlimactic to hostile. Not being a troll myself, a hostile reaction is not something I find desirable.

This bigotry oppression has got to stop!

its a good thing you’re finally beginning to see the light, and that you’re no different from anybody else.

Every person on this planet has their likes and dislikes. You are no different.
You hate homophobes, and probably many right-wingers also. Maybe you hate rush Limbaugh?? FoxNews maybe??

Come on dude spit out. Who are you uncomfortable with??

People that hate for no reason.
edited to add: And it’s more pity than hate, really.

Yeah, Czarcasm, don’t fight Esco’s attempt to give you a purification rundown. You want to be clear, don’t you?

That’s it. I’m setting up my own better society of bigots.

With blackjack.

And hookers.

In fact, forget the bigots!

So you’re saying hating someone for the right reasons is OK??

Well put Czarcasm.

This is a pitting of homophobes (Which isn’t a sexual orientation but a type of stupidity).

I think those with complaints about sexual orientation should start their own thread.

No-what I am saying are the words I put in my post. Do you have a logical reason to be homophobic?

I answered that twice already in this thread.

You just didnt like my answer

Indeed. Any environment shapes a persons behavior by their interactions with it.

Go out without a jacket, you learn to hate the cold and do what you can to eliminate interactions with it.

But not everyone processes input the same way. Some people with defects in sense or processing capability find painful things that normal people are unaffected by.

Myself, I dislike interacting with stupidity, so this is the last time I’ll respond to a post by you.

What post #s would those be? I can’t seem to find them.

I’ve been reading along, Esco, and while I don’t hate you for your reservations, I don’t exactly believe you have anything to worry about. Please post photo evidence that you are gay catnip, or in any way remotely attractive or tempting to gay men.

And don’t worry, I’m a straight, married female so you have nothing to fear from my perusal of your attributes. I’m just curious as to how a nervous, fearful, self-conscious, and touchy boy is so certain that a gay man would find him intriguing enough to warrant a second glance.

Mad I say!

Yep-you sure did. I heard you.

Here are the differences, Esco, between segregating sexes into separate changing rooms, while not separating sexual orientations into separate changing rooms.

  1. It is fairly straightforward to determine who is male and who is female (although trans-gender issues are coming to the fore these days). It is not at all straightforward to determine, for example, who is gay, so that they could be sequestered into a different location.

  2. Most people in the cultures that I am familiar with support the idea of separate changing rooms for men and women.

  3. It does no harm to either men or women to put them in separate changing rooms. Trying to segregate based on sexual orientation could do harm to those who do not wish to be publicly identified as gay.

  4. Additional changing rooms, or dividing existing changing rooms, would be a large capital cost for the organizations involved. They would have to pass this cost on to the members in the form of increased dues. This would probably make any organization that attempted to do so uncompetitive in the marketplace.

You are welcome to insist on your own private changing room, to any sports club that will listen. Such places might be available, possibly at a premium price.

Now to the issue of your sensitivity to being looked at: you are entitled to your feelings, just as others are entitled to find them silly (as I do) or hateful. What you are not entitled to do is to force other people to change their behavior to accommodate your feelings. This is not the same as separating genders, because of the reasons noted above, mostly that this is long-standing cultural practice and is not being imposed on the majority by a few sensitive souls.

So by all means don’t undress anyplace where you fear some man might find you to be eye candy. Find a place that is safe for you. I can only be grateful that, by definition, it will not be anywhere that I am likely to be.
Roddy

eta: “change their behavior to accommodate your feelings” does not include anything that is already against the law, such as peeping toms, sexual assault or rape. Those things already have remedies in the law. “Looking at you in a changing room” is not included among any of those crimes.
