I like Raisinettes, but I don’t think a candy shell would contribute positively to the mouthfeel.
Nope. Raisins are nasty. I’ll tolerate them in a cookie, but not in my candy.
Crunchy on the outside. Squishy and sticky inside. How is this not going to be like eating an insect?
I never thought about that part… that would definitely have to be solved before they could sell them. Come to think of it, that may be part of the reason they haven’t already been put on sale.
The other part may be this hate-on for raisins. I never knew such a thing existed! Personally, I have a take-em-or-leave-em attitude toward raisins in general, but I love Raisinets. A previous poster mentioned the waxy coating on Raisinets, which I agree is the worst part about them and would be improved by a candy shell.
I love raisins. And chocolate. And candy. So I’d buy them. I don’t get the hate for raisins. I can gulp them by the handful. As for the crunch of the candy and the softness of the raisins, well, I eat raisin bran, which has soft raisins and crunchy flakes. So, yeah, like others said, it’s like candy-coated Raisinets, which sounds as if it would be great.
When I was a kid I was very picky about raisins. I loved them straight out of the box, but I abhorred them in anything. If I was given a pastry with raisins in it, I would pick them all out.

Count me as another who dislikes raisins, period … and also, I have to add that I’m really surprised at the OP’s vitriol. Was I being wooshed or something? I mean, I know next to nothing about legal matters or the corporate world and I totally thought, “Yeah, of course that’s their answer. Quite nicely phrased, actually…” until I got to the :mad: and the cursing.

I think if I ever met a candy-shelled raisin, it would transcend disappointment; I predict that it would call into question the justification for candy coatings in general.

I’d try them (and the cranberry ones) but would reserve judgment on how yum they would be until I see what the actual product is like.
