I have a sort of weird question. In anime and other cartoons, you almost never see men with nipples being drawn. They will usually be just oddly absent. And this is a very normal way to represent a man in cartoons and such. I’d bet there are even a number of sculptures and classical paintings where men’s nipples were absent. We all remember the controversy of putting nipples on the Bat Suit in Batman & Robin.
Now, most guys around probably couldn’t give 2 high flying fucks about their nipples, and probably don’t think much about them ever. But let’s say that there was some kind of nipple-removing plastic surgery that was as popular/acceptable as breast augmentation, and left you with a result like what you see in the cartoons, no scars or marks of any kind. Just a smooth area of skin where the nipple used to be.
So if such a procedure existed, would it ever even cross your mind to have your nipples removed? What say you men?
(Women, you can vote too if you want, no reason you have to keep your nips)
For the record, I’m perfectly happy with mine too. It’s just curious how in depictions of men, it’s normal to remove the nipples to the point that if they are included it really stands out and strikes as odd.
Well, as a woman who has many folks with breast cancer in her family, there may in fact come a time in my life where I may have to face not having nipples (or breasts) for one reason or another. I’ve always loved my breasts, nipples and all, so the thought of losing some or all of it makes me really depressed. It’s my body, after all. Not sure why anyone would voluntarily remove their nipples (and mine aren’t overly sensitive like some folks).
What I also don’t particularly understand is how a lot of women get their nipples (ok, areolas, but let’s just use nipples for discussion’s sake) completely reshaped during breast augmentation. If you look up before and after photos of lifts in particular (I imagine because those women had larger breasts and nipples to start with), you’ll see that many go from perfectly normal medium to large nipples. . . . to tiny little quarter sized porn star nipples with weird Frankenstein scars all around them, sitting on giant tits.
It’d be nice to not have them poking the inside of my shirts all the time, aesthetically. And I think it would be more comfortable to sleep on my stomach if they were gone. But there’s the off-chance that I might want to breastfeed someday, so I think I’d hang onto them just in case… at least until I become infertile (menopause, hysterectomy, tubes tied, etc).
I wouldn’t have mine removed for the sake of being socially normal and would not encourage my husband to do so. If there were some practical reason to have them removed (nipple cancer? niplophobia?) it would be a different story, but conformity is never a good enough reason for surgery IMO.
“Most guys?” I spent my adolescence in the most boring, white-bread nowheres-ville small town in the American Midwest, yet the girls still knew to suck guys’ nipples and finger their butts during sex. I guess I’m the odd one for assuming that’s a common erogenous zone. True, I’ve never heard “and then she sucked my nipples” as often as “and then she sucked my dick” but I assumed it was just way an unremarked waystation between kissing and oral.
I get a lot of sexual pleasure from my nipples, under the right circumstances. So no, thanks, I’ll keep them. I don’t think I want to add any, two is enough.
I once dated a guy who could only get off if I was nibbling his nips. Not much variety and it got a bit boring after a while, but it can be very powerful.
Roddy
Both of those areas are just as likely to be non-erogenous, it depends on the guy in question. I’ve only been with one guy who liked to have his nipples touched; the rest didn’t care, and would rather be licked other places. And I’ve been with a couple guys who were very anti-anus, because it was actually a turn-off to them.
I don’t really have any body mods, including some that are even more societally acceptable than breast augmentation. I can’t imagine I’d go for this one, either.
It would never cross my mind to want them gone. Mine aren’t overly sensitive, but I do enjoy it when my wife licks and gently sucks on them as a detour on her way south. I wouldn’t want to get rid of them.
On one hand, it is currently tempting to banish them because I forgot to tape my nips before my run last night. Sweaty shirt + nipples = bloody nipples.
On the other, they’re sensitive and I would miss them:)
No. Not even if it was “trendy”. I never do things just because they are trendy, especially not removing a completely innocuous part of my body. Hell in the tonsil stone thread people are telling me to get my tonsils removed, and arguably they are harming me (as well as helping me) and I won’t get those removed either. It’s just surgery for no reason.
