Sure, you could take such measures, but do you? I’m guessing not, as I worked a childcare facility for a few years in jr. high school (run by a friend’s mom out of their home. I was just part-time help), and, unsurprisingly, not one of the applicants asked to inspect the wiring.
You might be atypical, or my experience may have been skewed, but I doubt it. The fact is that the vast majority of people are greatly focused on one unlikely danger while ignoring many others. The same way people who are afraid of dying on an airplane don’t consider the much higher chance that they’ll die in a car crash on the way to the airport.
