Would you let your 9 year old daughter wear this?

Why? Nobody is going to mistake her for one.

It looks whorish, but borderline. Would probably depend on my mood I guess

I think that outfit is inappropriate.

Even more inappropriate is the fact that this little girl’s first name is Noah.

Wait…this ISN’T a Halloween costume???

+1

And her intent is not to look slutty but to dress up and have fun for Halloween party.

I would also disagree with your statement about beachgoers. Part of the point of tiny bikinis is to show off your body to others. If they just wanted protective swimwear they would all wear one-pieces. How is it that a costume that covers all of her body but shoulders and knees is slutty but a thong bikini is not?

I think the bigger crime in this is not that it is inappropriate for her, but that she looks horrible in it. Couldn’t Billy Ray spring for a makeup artist? or a better one?

This made me laugh my ass off. But then since I didn’t notice how short her skirt was I was going to go back and look. Then I realized that I would be looking to see if a 9 yo had camel toe and creeped myself out.

Sure…if I were taking her to see Rocky Horror

Context matters a lot in figuring out what does and does not constitute appropriate attire. There’s plenty of 9-year olds wearing far less than that in the bath tub too, but that doesn’t make nudity an acceptable outfit/Halloween costume.

I’m pretty sure that most people would consider a thong bikini inappropriate for a 9 year old as well.

ETA: In case it wan’t obvious: No. I would not let my (currently hypothetical) daughter wear that.

Hell no. I feel kind of dirty just from looking at the picture. I also think it’s a little trashy to be turning tricks in front of a “Toys R Us” poster.

Is this from somebody’s child porn collection?

Yeah, I mean what could be wrong with dressing your child up like bait in a world filled with predators?

Here’s a clue; If you want your child to behave in an age appropriate manner when she’s say, 14yrs, maybe keep her age appropriate when she’s younger!

Billy Ray needs a great big dose of Wake The F**k Up!

Love Cuffs.

It’s obvious to me that the intent of the outfit is to have her replicate or parody the outfit that her older sister Miley wore in the *Elle *pictorial. Whether THAT is a smart idea to begin with… is another story; but in that sense I’d grant it as their business, if at a private dress-up party, or in a deliberately staged Very Special Episode scene. But OTOH it *would *be inappropriate wear for a girl her age to just step out in public.

You can make fun of the kids dress, but to call a little kid ugly is just mean. I bet you feel “big” for calling her that, don’t you.

No, No, no , no, no
My girl’s 7 but no f-ing way in bloody hell she’ll dress up like that in the next 10 years.

I have a 9 year old daughter. No, I wouldn’t let her wear that.

Nope. Too slutty. I don’t mean it shows too much skin. I mean it looks too much like a BDSM outfit.

The skirt is too short, though. If my experience with lolicons* is any indication, then the one thing that turns them on most visually is a panty shot. It’s just that the boots keep it from showing too much skin.

Of course, I think Miley’s outfit was just as bad, except that it was less “costumy.”

*short for Lolita Complex. means guys who like anime girls who look tweenish

It’s short, but BDSMish? What about that looked remotely like a BDSM outfit to you?

I fight with my husband over skirt length on my daughter. As long as it is not a skirt designed to be slutwear, I let my daughter wear it. So, a crotch length argyle miniskirt is fine in my book. The same in straight black leather, no. I don’t mind if her dresses are sleeveless or even spaghetti strapped (except for Easter, it has to have some sleeves for easter) but i want them to be a design that says little girl, and not slut. Hubby worries about skirts being too short, pah i say. Makeup is ok for Halloween. I saw some really nice face makeup at the school funfair. There were witches with exaggerated, almost Egyptian cats-eyeliner and black lipstick and it looked fine.

I would not let my daughter dress in that thing Noah was wearing with that makeup though. I think with a skirt it could be acceptable (although unflattering), but the make up needs to be completely redone. Either it should be spooky, or more clownish, or even more pageant style (which I abhor) as it is it just looks bad.

A real baby doll nightgown is appropriate for a little girl, but any nightgown that hugs the bust is not a babydoll despite what advertisers say.

babydoll

not a babydoll
