Just to join the mod chorus, I didn’t respond to the poll because I mod two forums and used to mod a third, and I wouldn’t want to pick. But 98% of the time I really do enjoy this gig. Really, there’s only one forum here that I just plain flat-out wouldn’t want to moderate. My skin is fairly thick and I’m reasonably calm, but there’s no way I could mod the Pit.

One thing, though: Do I have to buy my own jack boots?

Sometimes they’ll offer you used jackboots from a “retired” mod. Trust me. You don’t want them. Buy new ones.

here are so many rules lawyers around here, I think certain places would benefit from a harsher, Manhattan style, like it or lump form of moderation.

Mod: You are being a jerk, shut the fuck up
Whiny ass: No I am not, because you didn’t warn whiny ass #2 in this other thread…
Mod: DID I NOT SAY SHUT THE FUCK UP? WHEN I SAY IT YOU SHUT IT, GOT IT?

As it happens, I am the fucking hall monitor. If you don’t want help, don’t ask. You insult another user and you’re done here. That is not how we do things here.
