Probably not. I don’t need no stinkin’ bottle to permit me to kiss people. We played as kids because when you’re a kid, kissing is a BIG DEAL. Now, not so much.
Just have everyone do a shot of vodka in between spins. Mmm, sanitizing.
Kissing may not be a big deal as an adult, but I suspect that, for most of us guys, the opportunity to kiss several attractive women in one evening would be.
Sure, if I was single, I’d go for it.
Comments like this remind me of why I love my girlfriend so much.
Then I’m glad to have added that reminder to your day. But what does that have to do with this discussion?
Does she let him kiss lots of girls in an evening? That’s how I took it.
Unless she rounds them up for him, it still seems a little out of place.
I have never played, what are the rules? If a girl spins the bottle and it points to another girl what happens? Do you keep spinning until it points to someone of the opposite sex?
It would depend on the ratio of women to men. 3:1? Perfect.
Hmmm, maybe we should start a thread on what the ratio of (relatively good looking) members of the preferred sex to members of the other sex there would need to be in a circle for you to want to play spin the bottle, provided that you had to make out with whoever the bottle pointed to, no matter what their gender.
I already answered that. Total number of participants: 4.
It was only vaguely exciting then (and presumably now) if there was at least one person in the circle I was secretly interested in kissing. Everything up to him would be just pointless and possibly icky.
Now that it has been healthily established that a decent number would be willing (if single I guess  ) when and where are going to hold the first monthly SDMB Spin The Bottle game?
You stop at kissing?
Back in college, we played a lot of Spin the Bottle, Truth or Dare and Never Have I Ever. Once we played Strip Spin the Bottle because the regular version was getting too boring. I would play it again, if my fiance was okay with it or if I were single.
Our rule was that you didn’t have to kiss anyone you really didn’t want to, but it was strongly discouraged to refuse. The hottest guy-on-guy kiss I’ve seen to this day was during a game of Spin the Bottle.
I’d have to be the only guy in the game.
Yup - absolutely - I’d play. Course, my bf would have to be in the circle. But why play spin the bottle when you can play with the naughty dice? (Y’know, one die has body parts on it, the other die has action verbs on it. So it says stuff like “lick” and “neck”).
Mmmm, tastes like herpes…
Definitely . . . but only if they were all guys, and my partner were one of them.
There was at least one strip poker game at every party I hosted in college. Spin the Bottle seems a bit tame in comparison.
I must agree – kissing never hurt anybody. In fact, kissing tends to uplift folks and I’ve never had one of those “I shouldn’t have done that” feelings the day after I kissed somebody.
