Would you play "spin the bottle" as an adult?

So I’m at work the other day. I’m on the elevator. It’s just me and a lady.

When we get to our floor, the door opens up and there’s a guy standing there waiting to get in. This is the short transaction that took place:

Him: “Whoa! 7 minutes in heaven?” [steps onto elevator]

Her: [laughs] “That’s a good one.”

Me: “What the heck was he talking about?”

Her: “My shirts on inside out. He was insinuating that we were making out in the elevator.”

Me: [just now realizing her shirts on inside out] “Oh, heh, that would certainly be the highlight of my day.”

Both: [laughs]

This got me to thinking about all those silly games we used to play as teenagers.

Why the heck did we ever grow out of spin the bottle? Even if I was in a committed relationship I don’t think this would bother me under the confines of the game.

Swinging, is a little too over the top for me personally, but STB? in the right company? Why the heck not?

So what do you guys think? (I admit, I’m feeling a little nostalgic right now.)

[spins bottle]

If I was unattached, yeah. Not while in a relationship though, and I’d consider doing so cheating.
Although if I did play, I’m sure it’d be just like 5th grade all over again where the person who spun and landed on me refused to kiss me. So it’s probably best I don’t play at all ever.

Sure, why not? Assuming one isn’t involved, I can’t imagine the harm and it might turn out to be a world of fun.

Can and have, although I’d hate to catch something. What’s a little kissing between friends? Or strangers?

I only played it once, and was technically an adult, though I think I was still a teen.

I’d play again, and am nearing thirty.

I’m also gonna put myself under the “only if I were unattached” caveat. Too much baggage when there’s a partner involved. Even if I was attached while playing, I’d want my partner to be present so he could know what I was doing and with whom, and I’d expect the same of him.

Sure. It would be a hoot.

I have never played spin the bottle, so I don’t know if I’d like it or not.

No. The risk of locking lips with a woman after she just locked lips with another guy doesn’t appeal to me.

I could see it happening if I weren’t in a relationship.

I’ve never played it and if I was unattached, would jump at the chance.

The first and only time I played it was when I was 24 - I was in Edinburgh for a summer program and a bunch of us were bored and drunk.

That was quite the debauched summer. :: nostalgia ::

Never played, but if I’m single, absolutely.

I’m almost surprised my group of friends hasn’t drunkenly gone there. We’ve always stopped at Truth or Dare, though. Less kissing, more nudity.

Thanks, this just became an event at my Christmas party but it is a singles only game.

I have!

I would still, if I was single.

This would stop me from playing it, I think. Of course if it was summer time (not flu season) and I was single, a wee tipsy, and surrounded by 8 gorgeous swedish chicks… maybe then.

What’s “adult”? I’m 22 and I think I’d play again, were I single.

If I weren’t married, sure. I’d play it with my wife but it’s not the same thrill. A different thrill, I hasten to add, in case she reads this.

Did you ask her why her shirt was on inside-out?

You should have exchanged guilty looks and awkwardly changed the subject.
