So I’m taking it to mean, since the OP is such an egregious example of invasion of privacy that he feels health department inspectionso of restaurants is of a similar vein?
Having read the original thread (linked in the OP), I’ve found this entire thread utterly hilarious. This post was what pushed me over the edge into uncontrollable giggles.
Yes, I think homeschooling should be an option.
Yes, I think some standards should be applied.
The whole “education voucher” idea is seriously flawed-- I had a housemate many years ago who was a single dad and a Scientologist. I spent a lot of time as a secondary caregiver for that little fella. This included taking him to, and picking him up from, a Scientology “school.” Some of the things I saw were heartbreaking. The idea of tax dollars supporting that sort of “education” curls my hair, and straightens my pubes. I imagine that what I saw would differ signicantly from what a PTS OP inspector would be allowed to see, since there was an assumption I was a Scientologist.
I believe his point is that it makes as much sense to go from restaurant inspections to home hymen exams as it does to go from home school regulation to mandatory parenting skills checks. Which I think is a bit of a stretch, but it is parody and all. You’re allowed to exaggerate. I guess…
1: Poster Cessandra asks for opinions about mandatory licensing to be eligible to be a parent based some other peoples opinions about people’s fitness (or lack thereof) to be parents
Would you support parental licensing?
2: Based on responses to that thread Cessandra takes it up another notch with thread asking for responses to suggestion that all families with kids have to submit to regular state inspections to make sure kids are not being abused etc
Agenda of thread finally becames clear with comparison/contrast of aforesaid parental inspections to suggestions about requiring mandatory state inspections of home schooling premises to ensure compliance with state regulations posts thread .
Would you support mandatory home visits for all parents?
4: Libertarian, (apparently) annoyed at some posters in previous linked thread and deciding that more upward notches are available, posts this thread advocating hymen inspection of unmarried women -
I probably missed something, but I think that’s roughly the way it plays out.
