Good Lord wiping my eyes I am laughing so hard. After reading the linked thread this morning and now this I don’t know what is more funny the parody or the high pitched squawking done by some of the posters in this thread. Whooo good one Lib.

He is indeed using his considerable talent to make a point. He was taking the issue of mandatory home inspections on parents, and exaggerating it in a creative effort to invoke in our minds the evils of invasive bureuacratic busybodies. The affront to dignity that such regular inspections would cause, while not being as bad as hymen inspections, would still constitute an unreasonable search.

I knew what this thread was parodying right away…a bad parody at that. A good parody would use something more extreme, yet more relevant. The orginal thread is people wanting home inspections for the “good” of the child. There’s no social benifit to checking hymens; no one is hurt if the hymen fails inspection. The whole parody is simply too far away from the origal topic to be funny. Had he picked something else, perhaps fining parents for doing XY orZ, it might have had a shot at humor.
