I’ve got a 60 Tauren Druid on Durotan. I originally started on another server on the Alliance side, but switched to play with Seren.
And aren’t you glad you did?
Horde is much more fun, though Night Elves do have the best jumps in the game.
My main is Otsana, a 52 NE druid on Elune. I have about a half-dozen other Alliance characters on Elune, mostly profession alts, in a guild called “Ceci nest pas une guild” (I convinced a bunch of RL friends to make characters on Elune to sign my charter, the guild-that-isn’t doesn’t have many real members, but I think that’s appropriate ) I used to play some Horde characters of Kel-Thuzad, but that became less fun as my friends all massively over-leveled me.
My friend and I both have level 60 Nightelf hunters on Sargeras, Scaljei and Varion. I have a level 60 Paladin named Jerjare there as well.
Thanks to the joys of a PvP server, we spent many long nights of amusement griefing people in Gadgetzan and Booty Bay. Perch on a roof, spot a hordie, aimed shot, concussive shot, arcane shot, then feign death. The feign death clears the guard’s aggro, and if the dumbass horde is stupid enough to shoot back, they dogpile him.
Before a recent patch, it was even better because a Night Elf could wind up an aimed shot and only de-stealth after he fired. They nerfed that, but it doesn’t stop rooftop ganking in the neutral cities Rogues can use this too (by using vanish).
When carebears whine about this, hey, I’m just using my class abilities. Whine about it, and you’ll also have to whine about a rogue knocking off 2/3 of your health from an ambush crit, or warlocks keeping people constantly feared/seduced/dotted, etc etc.
I’d never switch to a PvE server; I’d die of boredom. The danger element of a PvP server was what attracted me. Leveling up to 60 in a world where there is constant risk of getting killed by the enemy faction feels much more worthwhile than a PvE server where there is virtually no outdoor PvP content. Even DKs don’t serve as a major deterrent (just avoid civilians). Last night my buddies and I pretty much completely took over Sun Rock Retreat for several hours, slaughtering anyone foolish enough to encroach on the quant hamlet.
Of course. I wasn’t complaining, merely explaining that I hadn’t chosen Horde originally.

My guild is Requiem of Hellscream, and I can’t say enough good things about them. I’m a casual player, and I’m in no hurry to get to 60 and start raiding. They have scheduled raids several nights a week, but everyone is very laid back, and I don’t get any pressure from the guild officers to get to 60. In fact, my main motivation to get to 60 is so I can start to pay back all the help my guildies have given me doing quests and running instances. Because of my work schedule, I usually play in the afternoon after I get home, so I’m rarely on after 4 in the afternoon eastern time. But if any dopers happen to be on Elune in the afternoon, feel free to send me a tell and say hi.
