Does it even matter? You’ll think it’s misogynistic just because… well, just because. But in any case I’ll take this challenge since it is so incredibly easy.
I want one set of behavioral rules and one set of laws for both genders. Beyond allowing the most basic asides for women and childbirth and women having to sit down on the toilet, there should be no difference.
And since you asked for specific abuses, I’ll list them - but if you go back to the discussion that spawned this hysterical thread, you’ll see I had already outlined them there.
Behavioral norms:
- Either men and women alike should be forgiven for any emotional baggage, lack of self-confidence or low self-esteem issues, or neither should be. No more of society coddling women with emotional issues while falling like wolves on men who are similarly stricken. What goes for one gender must go for the other.
- Men and women should have equal (note: I said equal, not total) freedom to dress as they wish without fear of putting up with judgemental nonsense. Bad fashion is still bad fashion, though.
- Men and women who are too scared to go up and talk to the other gender should be treated with either general sympathy or general scorn. No more of that “men are losers if they can’t strike up a conversation” bullshit.
- “Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them” and “juicy” (on some girl’s pants) should be right out.
Laws: - End selective service and abolish it for all genders.
- Women who murder their kids should get the exact same punishment as is meted out to men who do this. In fact I believe in automatic sentencing for this deed and others, to further alleviate both racial and gender bias. And an end to plea bargaining, too.
- Change the Violence Against Women Act to the Anti-Violence Act, and change the law to take a gender-blind approach to all acts of domestic violence.
- Companies should be made to justify on paper any differences in pay between men vs women for the same work.
Miscellaneous:
“Are Men Necessary” should all be taken off the shelves and locked in a vault along with its habitually misandrist author.
