Galway Girl by Steve Earle cover.
Has “Fishheads” been covered yet?
I was just remarking to my boyfriend that I think Miley Cyrus’s “Heart of Glass” is the best cover song I’ve ever heard. As soon as she starts singing I get goosebumps.
Nina Simone’s version of George Harrison’s “Isn’t It a Pity” is just a stunning musical moment, and elevates the original to something transcendent.
I came here to suggest Yes’ America as well.
But Delaney Bramlett? That solo is 100% Steve Howe all the way!
My coworker Jada runs a music lounge on Thursday afternoons over MS Teams. She let me host a few times. This is an all covers session I hosted.

Emmylous Harris, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt cover “After the Gold Rush” by Neil Young. One of the most sublime things I’ve ever heard:
Beautifully sung, but I hate it how they bowdlerized the line “And I felt like getting high”. Not cool.
I’m a big fan of the Two Minutes To Late Night covers on their YouTube channel (seek “wrecking Ball” above). They include members of various metal acts (and some surprises) and Gwarsinio Hall, the host. Gwarsinio is quite the mimic, and since they are now recording remotely, couch has become something of a break-out star. Here are some notables:
Coheed and Cambria + Mastodon + Primus + Tool + Mutoid Man Cover RUSH’s “Anthem”
Jay Weinberg + High on Fire + Mutoid Man + Royal Thunder cover Bruce Springsteen’s “Candy’s Room”
Old Man Gloom + Baroness + Candiria + Potion cover Danzig’s “Snakes of Christ”
With multiple sold-out U.S. tours under its belt and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, Leonid & Friends continues to astound its global audience with its unique ability in capturing the spirit, musicality, and fire of American supergroup Chicago.
And what is even more stunning is that Leonid & Friends, comprised of 11 of the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, haven’t seen Chicago perform live, yet replicates the band’s complex arrangements amazingly note for note.
I read that even before he left, Cetera wouldn’t sing this one any more because he thought it was corny. So if you want to hear it live, Leonid & Friends can make that happen.
Ya know… this was… not as good as I would have expected given the people involved.
Loved it. Mind you, being locked down can do strange things to the mind.
And it’s got a guiro! I gotta tell Mean_Mr.Mustard
