When I read this ‘strip’ today, my first thought was “This is fresh! Now there’s an angle that hasn’t been explored, even by Tom Batiuk!” (his Funky Winkerbean and Crankshaft characters have gotten more depressed, and feeling more and more sorry for themselves over the years).
My second thought was “Hmmm, I bet this was auto-biographical for John Kovalic.”
So tomorrow I’m hitting Frugal Muse (used bookstore in Madison, WI) to see if there’s a Cache of Kovalic™ for the taking…
