well… not yeti…
A creature of Japanese folklore.
It’s a homophone for “new” and “gnu.” And, it’s a legendary creature found in Japanese folklore, apparently.
But seriously, what’s a-new with you?
Are there any clues about where the photo was taken? It looks as if it could be a monkey.
Nope… no clues as to where. To me, the face/snout is too elongated for a monkey. And tho I have no real reason why, the houses have a Brittish feel to them for me.
…And I am still waiting for The Smartest People in the World to get back to me on this…
As a factual aside and all, this is a classic piece of internet glurge that’s been floating around since at least 2006 and most likely much earlier than that. This and another with a woman in a still from a porn who appears to have two buttholes pop up on imageboards all the time. Nobody, anywhere, actually knows what this is.
No, I am not linking to the two buttholes one. Google image search WTF and it should be on the first page or two.
If it’s a dog or cat, where’s the tail? I suppose if it was a dog, the tail could be docked.
If it was a cat, it could be bobbed.
Looks like a cat to me, in kitten “raise up on hind legs, arch back, and prepare to pounce on mouse” mode.
It’s a little big to be a kitten, but that was my first thought when I saw it.
Lesser Eurasian Werebadger
Folks, it has no knees. There is only one thing [outside Bag End] that looks like that. It’s a Badger. I don’t know if it’s an atomic one, but it’s definitely a Badger. [sup]or a kokopeli[/sup]
It could be a werebadger - as dumbguy says. I hadn’t thought of that. We had a wererabbit in our garden over the summer, it wasn’t pretty.
OMG! It’s a f p d! Looks like it should have at least 14 k of g in it!
Ironically… that was my first thought!
I’m sure I don’t know what it is. It could be an anorexic nudist gnome that’s lost his cap is going looking for it. With a hatchet.
It sure made for an interesting sequential thread however.
“WTF IS this??? I Mean Seriously…”
“I’m a very honest person”…
“Madoff admits to $50 Billion fraud”
My rage for you burns with the power of a thousand suns.
All of you are blind. It’s a Zuni fetish warrior doll named He Who Kills.
All the good answers have been taken. So I’m going to say it’s a small dog. I’ve seen dogs that stand on their hind legs just like that when they’re pulling on the end of their leash. He’s leashed to the tree behind him but you can’t see the leash because of the poor quality of the picture.
Fred Astaire.
The houses do look like traditional English thatched cottages, but there seems to be a large commercial building or apartment block behind them, and you wouldn’t normally find the two located close together in England. That was what made me wonder if the photo was taken in Africa or the Far East. I still like to think it’s Lord Lucan though.
