I should be more jaded than I am by now - since I’ve been fairly jaded for some time - but killing both kids was a shocker. Not quite over the line, but certainly much more disturbing than leaving only one survivor.
I was surprised, too. I mean, X-files had that episode where all the missing children end up dead(we see their ghosts and graves), but this one still surprised me.
An odd final stand-alone episode, but not a bad one. I’ll remember some moments for a long time, other things are forgetable.
Anyway, next week is the final episode. I presume it will suck. Core story, mythology, blah, blah.
Gillian Anderson does not plan to return. I would love to believe that this will be a good finale. I doubt it, though.
Creepy episode. Reminded me some of Silent Hill, just from the grotesquery. I enjoyed it. Wonder what Scully whispered to Mulder. Probably something about finding William.
I thought she probably told him she was pregnant—hence the whole ‘doing this together’ thing. It seems there were several hints in that direction.
Hmmm… maybe. Scully’s what, 50? Not impossible, especially on a show like X Files. She didn’t seem especially concerned about her fall down the shaft, though.
She’s 54(February 23, 1964). Four years older than Gillian Anderson, who was kind of a baby when they started making X-files.
Scully is immortal.
That…was actually a superior finale to either of the two we’ve received before. It was not perfect, but it was actually quite good.
Hardly a series finale, but a decent season finale.
Which I think will be the final episode.
If so, so be it. Face it, we never expected to see new X-Files again so any good episodes were just gravy. )r a gift from the universe, if you don’t like gravy.
I haven’t watched this week’s yet but I finally caught up on this season. Since the very beginning of teh show in the 90s the Mythology episodes were nonsense and boring and the Monster of the Week episodes were great. This mini season is no different.
I thought it was kind of boring and Scully’s got to be deep into menopause by now… I know it’s not fool-proof immediately but it’s pushing my sense of disbelief even more than the last William shot.
And Half Man Half Wit nailed it! Or half nailed it, since Mulder was surprised when she put his hand on her tummy.
Heard some rumors that whatever she whispered was a moment strictly between Mulder and Scully, and the audience won’t ever be privy to it.
