X Files, Social TV

There is a replay of X Files on some channel that tags it Social TV: X Files and I swear that they are processing it somehow. The voices and sounds are pitched wrong, Scully sounds like a little girl, and Molder is a high tenor. Everybody I have mentioned it to can’t seem to hear any difference. Even the sound effects are off, car starting sounds are softer and higher - stuff like that.

Anybody else here it or am I just nuts:confused:

No idea.

Is this the channel?

They are speeding it up to fit in more commercials. Welcome to the wonderful world of cable syndication.

So, you’re saying it’s a conspiracy?

I used to work in Master Control for a TV station and it is possible they just needed to tweak the knobs. Granted, I did it back in the 1990s but we had controls for bass, tremble, etc with the associated moving bars (whatever they’re called; the ones that flicker up to red when levels are too high) and stuff we broadcast could be all over the place and require manual adjustment.

Or they just sped it up.

Yes that is indeed the channel. And I can definitely believe in a conspiracy to shove more commercials into an hour - it seems like there are more and more commercials, and paid programs and less programming :frowning:

Hell I am a girl and I can take a shower on some of the ‘short commercial breaks’ they have now.

CNBC tried this with Late Night with Letterman about 20 years ago, when they re-run it the next day.

What channel is doing that to the X-files now?

/me points to the link in one of the posts above. No idea what channel name it is on cable system or if it is on the same channel in all systems.
