Xbox banned commercial

I thought it was extrem;y stupid too.
That is, until the Taxi.

The “one sec…” guy in the taxi is hillarious as is the girl with the “grenade” and the worker on the safety line falling off the scafolding.

Tee hee! That was brilliant. Thanks for sharing.

Well, that clip seemed to vindicate THIS anti-glorification-of-violence-in-games-er (but definitely NOT anti-gamer). It was a perfect visualization of what this recent crop of crap that the new consoles are popularizing looks like to people like me - a bunch of adults amusing themselves by pretending to kill each other in disturbingly realistic ways. They probablty banned it because it made gamers look like idiots. It took the most perfect TV ad in history, Nike’s Tag (a spot where the entire city of New York was involved in a game of tag) and perverted to an embarrasing mirror image of what their target demo looks like.

And perhaps a cooperative element would have softened the commercial a bit and brought out the “fun” instead of having every single person trying to kill every single other person for absolutely no reason.

Wait a second. Mock gun fight? Damnit, I brought my mock sword.

I never get the memoes…

Not to worry, so long as you remember you have some mock grenades on your mock weapon belt.

I loved this commercial.

Well, all I have is a mock turtleneck, and a mock fur coat.

I guess I’ll be your faux

Grenades? Grenades!? I came prepared for a western medival setting. Why would I… oh Red Mage, you explain it.

Mock sword-chucks, yo!

Bwah-ha ha ha hah hah ahah hahah ahah!

That was hilarious. I freaking love it.

I thought it was mildly amusing until the guy in the taxi. Then I actually laughed out loud.

An episode of Spaced (a short-lived Britcom starring the guys who went on to make Shaun of the Dead) revolved entirely around finger-shooting.

It was funny then, too.

I suppose it’s a viral ad, much like this one, made to show the client what the ad agency can do.

The cabbie was fun. The rest of the commercial was okay, but hardly ban-worthy.

Speaking of which, the song is Hold That Tiger, Preston Tucker’s favorite song, and used extensively in the movie. (They should have used the music in a racing game ad.)

Where did they film this? Why were the announcements in the beginning in Japanese?

I liked it. And yes – the cabbie was the best bit.

I liked those, those and the long range shots

Course, it was all done a while ago on the series Spaced

Course, I had to skip to the end without reading the above :smack:

Just once I’d like to slip in a cult reference before anyone else :frowning:
