Another vote for the Wii – not only can you play Gamecube titles on it, but the controller looks IMO to be the Next Big Thing™ in video gaming. And it’s actually affordable, unlike the prettier-pictures-same-old PS3.
I’m a tad fuzzy on the controller compatibility issue, myself – my understanding is that some Wii games will be programmed to optionally allow the use of Gamecube controllers, while all Gamecube games will require the use of the same. Virtual Console games will have different controller requirements, but the early word is that the GC controller will play all of them.
And the notion that Nintendo practices “censorship” hasn’t been valid for several years now – didn’t anyone remember the uproar with all the sexual, scatological, and foul-mouthed jokes in Conker’s Bad Fur Day? Heck, one of Nintendo’s big launch titles for the Wii is Red Steel, where you get your choice of shooting people in the head or slashing their throats with a blade…
