New XKCDis some sort of game. I don’t get it.
You can position three lights, change the direction, beam width and colour as you like … and then what? Nothing happens for a while, then it crashes. It shows the message “Loading” and doesn’t seem to go beyond that.
one time a little tree appeared. Nothing else happened. Then it crashed.
And the mouseover text is “Relax.”
Anyone figure it out?
Lucky you, all I get is the “Loading” message.
It loaded for me once this morning but nothing else happened. Ever since its been stuck.
Got the lights burning, but nothing’s growing.
Maybe it’s in real time?

I had luck. I got two birdbaths, two deer, a rabbit, a bunch of turtles, 3-4 bushes, and two trees that swayed in the breeze.
Then it crashed.
I’ve had it running for about 7-8 minutes now. I have a tree swaying in the wind, and what might be a turtle next to it. If it is a turtle, it’s pretty big in relation to the tree (or the tree is small).
You can click on the items that appear, but I think the only thing you can with them is delete them.
I’ve had it running for a little while now. I’ve got a cat and a desk with a chair.
What with the mention of April Fool’s, I was convinced it was a prank, as it took a LONG time for anything at all to happen. I tried it in two different browsers running at the same time. After about half an hour all I had in the Safari window was two turtles. I had a turtle and a couple of sprouts going in Chrome, but when I came back to it after a while I found two of the lights gone and only one tree, no turtle.
Other people have probably figured this out but you can adjust the color of the light from blue to red by clicking on the lamp and moving the dial.
After starting over and letting it run for an hour and a half, I’ve got two Mars probes and a cactus all overlapping, a third Mars probe by itself, a turtle, and something that looks like a lamppost with no light on it.
I have a medium sized tree with full leaves, a large tree with no leaves, some small stems with no leaves or flowers, a cat, two rabbits, a woman, and what appears to be three park benches.
I now have a second woman, a bird, a balloon, and an octopus.
I have two trees…and a gallows. wtf?
…this is mine at the moment: new things literally getting added everytime I revisit.
Interestingly enough: I accidentally grabbed the tab this was on and removed it from the rest of the Chrome tabs, and everything disappeared. (But the lights stayed in the same place.) I placed it back with the other tabs and everything reappeared again.
Possibly the idea is to have red, green, and blue lights (for white light) overlapping the largest possible area?
I had a cactus with a turtle on top of it, a desk, a cat, some grass, then crashola. Haven’t got back to it.
Seriously, what the fuck is with all the gallowses? The first one turned into a cross, and then started growing branches and leaves. Now there’s another gallows. Am I the only one getting gallowses? Is this a message? Have I offended Randall somehow? xkcd: Garden
You can also adjust the beam from wide to narrow. I wonder if different things grow in different light.
