You know, just out of curiosity I checked out the Chicago version of The Straight Dope, and there was Ed, interacting with someone about something. In other words, Ed, you were very visible, and I’m okay with that, because after all, that’s “home”.
What I am having difficulty with is the disparity that exists between the two Dopes. Repeated requests for clarification going unanswered here, for example. Then all of a sudden there’s a thread about a change in the Pit rules and whoosh, he’s gone again.
Isn’t Ed the administrator for both Dopes?
If so, then this one seems to be a ship with no rudder and the spirit to which NineToTheSky referred, is in danger of being lost.
I feel that here I need to apologize, because now I feel like a “snoop”, and I probably broke a rule in referring to a discussion in another thread. So I do apologize, but I would like to reiterate that my relationship with The Straight Dope is more than likely not the same as another Doper’s may be.
It wasn’t always that way, and there were times when I “showed my ass”. But it is that way now, and I am very grateful to have thousands of friends to interact with and I’d like to protect that if I can.
Again, sorry if I’m overreacting and sorry if I broke a rule by what I wrote, but everything I stated here is what’s in my heart. There is no sarcasm intended.
