Yankee fans are fucking animals, man

You have to admire the way the RedSox forced a game 7, setting up their fans for a far more painful heartbreak.

This Yankee fan didn’t like what Rodriguez attempted. When I saw it on replay, my first thought was-I don’t want the run-it wasn’t honest. Sorry that some “fans” express disapproval by throwing shit on the field and behaving that way-but not all of us are assholes.

I don’t suppose that there’s any possibility of A-Rod getting suspended from Game 7?

Wow, gee, some sports fans got angry. Brilliant analysis to note that this sort of behavior is confined to New York and to Yankees fans in particular.

My curses towards they Yankees and their fans will be hereby amended to read “except for danceswithcats.”

Pretty good, huh? They’ve had decades to perfect their technique, and this is easily the best yet.

Because your mind was clouded with rage. Are we going to read about you in the papers after the Yankees win the series and Bush wins the election?

And some asshole has to come in and shit in a thread cause they don’t like sports fans, or sports in general. Great.

Had to show how superior you’re feeling? Good for you.

Is that a sip, a chug, or a shot?

diku, I am an immense sports fan. And it’s not news to me that sometimes fans are idiots. Why is this news to you?

Thank you, Sir.

He should be but I doubt he will.

But marley23, they weren’t just angry… they were unsportsmanlike. They booed a fair call, as if winning was more important than playing fair. Surely such depraved behavior is only known in the big ugly cities of the east, and not in such gentle Midwestern metrops as mine.

If you define “fair call” as “whatever the umps say”, then sure, they booed a fair call. But if you mean “accurate”, well, they could hardly know, and chose to support their team on a call that was against them. Standard behavior.

Before, one observes, he even touched the bag. Hmmm.

Ah, yes. There is also the possibility that you were making that very point. :smack:

No he shouldn’t. He was justly punished during the game. His team lost so no harm done…other than to his already shitty reputation.

Haj

Yes, they booed and that was wrong. What I found more disturbing was the announcers on Fox (exact wording I don’t have) stating that ‘He tried to beat it, he got caught, but that’s what you have to do.’

BULLSHIT! What you have to do is give your best, play hard, but play honestly. I don’t know if MLB has an ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ penalty clause, because if they do, A-Rod deserves it.

That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is someone has to jump into a thread, knowing what it entails, then had to make a statement like that with a rolleyes at the end. I’ve seen it happen many many times on this board. A thread starts about a blown call in a football game, for example. People discuss the call, and someone has to jump in to prove moral superiority by dismissing the discussion as something unworthy.

As least that’s how I took it. If I’m wrong, sorry.

And I’m glad the fucking Yankees lost.

Supporting the team is one thing, throwing garbage is another. When the cops have to ring the field, the fans have gone too far.

One of these days, an athlete or an ump or a kid in the 2nd row is going to seriously injured by something thrown from the stands.
