Yes, I fucking LOVE filling out affirmative action surveys during a job interview!

If it’s so hard to be black in America, name a black-majority nation where it’s easy.

Dickhead.

No. A poster with the name MrSarcasticus (open your freakin’ eyes) noted that these were liabilities when applying to certain jobs.

And that has stopped people since when?

And I second stop “trying to drag everyone else down with you.”

I think being Black in Botswana should be pretty easy.

Knee jerk much? Get over yourself.

Huh? Where was I screaming and crying over imagined racism? What’s your point anyway, that I should just be lucky that you put up with me over here?

Pathetic racist brat.

Pathetic racist brat.

The jerk is you.

You are lucky that any human being, at any place, puts up with you. I pity your mother for the guilt she must feel for inflicting you on the world.

Satisfying Andy Licious, HIV is a problem in Botswana, but what does that have to do with being Black in Botswana?

You claimed that it’s easier being Black in America then elsewhere. So, here’s my question: “Is it harder being Black in Botswana, then it is being Black in America?”

That’s nice.

I’m not the one who started this "go someplace else"shit. pizzabrat said “…God, what a whiner. Hey, if it’s so hard to be a white man in America, why don’t you just move?” So I threw it back at him/her.

And yes, it would be harder being black in Botswana if you’re a member of one of the ethnic groups being deprived of their land and their rights. Try reading the fucking quote, dildo. Or maybe it just got by you because black oppression of other black people never garners much outrage.

Andylicious, your bias is showing in GD, which shows your investment here.

You make a claim without substantiation that men aren’t allowed in a family homeles shelter with the rest of their family. Many have requested a cite with none given.

Is it so terribly hard to be oppressed for being a white male?

Is the entire world against you?

Watch me cry you a fucking river.

White males in the US certainly do face discrimination. Black males in the US face more discrimination though. On the other hand, black males in the US have things such as special scholorships available to them that white men can’t get. Blah, blah, blah. At the end of the day if you’re competent at what you do and you don’t act like a dickhead, you’re likely to do well in life.

Haj

That’s nice, I’m sure you were justified.**

Hmmm…:dubious: Let’s try this again stall we? Satisfying Andy Licious, ethnic conflict is a problem in Botswana, but what does that have to do with being Black in Botswana?

You made the claim that it is easier being Black in America then elsewhere. So, here’s my question: “Is it harder being Black in Botswana, then it is being Black in America?”**

Cute.

I was in Botswana earlier this year. It’s pretty much harder to be anything in Botswana than anything in the US.

Haj

No you didn’t. I didn’t say anything about going to a “white country” to you. I don’t know why you restricted my choice to a “black country”. Anyway, why don’t you name a white country where it’s easier to be white than here?

Another one? Maybe, I am not clear enough in my questioning?

I understand the problems that Botswana is facing as a developing southern African country opposed to the USA, but as an African country would being Black be one of those problems (opposed to the USA)?

[hijack]P.S.- What were you in Botswana for? (If you don’t mind me asking)[/hijack]

I can report second-hand knowledge that yes, black people in African countries suffer racism too.

Example: Black Zimbabwean was driving two white American friends around the countryside. They wanted to go across to Botswana for the day and the black Zimbabwean was prevented from crossing the border, because he was “clearly” paying the white Americans (who he had “clearly” never met before - obviously he was lying) to help him cross over. There was no question raised about the Americans.

I won’t presume to further represent the situation of black Africans although I have much experience with them. I am also unqualified to determine whether racism experienced in America is “worse” than that experienced in Africa. I would ask that, unless you have had the experience of being black in Africa and in America, that y’all provide a similar courtesy.

We now return to our regularly scheduled anti-affirmative action thread …

OK, I see your point now. Some of the problems do have to do with being the wrong kind of black, i.e. problems between different tribes.

I visited a couple of game lodges in the national park in the Okavango Delta for safari. It was an unbelievable experience.

I just came off a stretch where I and my husband were simultaneously laid off. It took me 6 months to get a new job and it took my husband 4 months, when it’s never taken either of us more than a couple of weeks before. I know how much fun the hiring process is and I do have sympathy for anyone going through it.

I agree with everything the OP said about job interviewing right now, except one. It sucks. However, it doesn’t selectively suck more for skilled white males.

Your “bias” is shown in any thread in which you object to discrimination, harassment, etc., against your group.

So – from now on, my official response to any complaint from your group should be “cry you a fucking river”? After all, if you don’t care about my rights, why the fuck should I care about yours?

The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate was 6.2% in July. Seems to me you still have relatively little to whine about.
