Yes, I fucking LOVE filling out affirmative action surveys during a job interview!

“Clear” is not the word you’re looking for. I believe the word is “lucid.”

pizzabrat said “Hey, if it’s so hard to be a white man in America, why don’t you just move?” I then challenged pb to cite a black-majority nation where he/she would be better off (and out of an entire continent we so far have a grand total of one suggestion: Botswana.) It’s indicitive of the legless nature of your rejoinder that you are trying to narrow it down to a hair-splitter criterion. In addition, you have already been given several examples of when being a black person of a certain ethnic, tribal or national group is a problem. If you weren’t in denial, you would read them.

Yes, we do have relatively little to whine about. That was my original point.

What was even the point of your challenge anyway? First of all, you were the one that was whining. Second, what does a mostly-black nation have to do with anything? What made you say that?

Still don’t get it, eh? I think it’s time to put this semantic horse to rest. Botswana is irrelevent, it could stand for almost any nation with a mostly Black population.

My point was that being Black in America is often worst then being Black in mostly Black countries because being Black is a non-issue in most of these countries (although not all). Is this your postion as well? (this is where you agree and we both go on our own ways).

So then a million Rwandans were slaughtered in 1994 by a “non-issue.”

Is your head in the sand, or merely up your arse?

And they were killed becuase they were black?

I gotta admit… you are one dumb motherfucker if you still have no idea what my counter arguement is.

Tell people who suffered under Apartheid that being black in a mostly black South Africa wasn’t an issue.

I’m sure they’d love to hear it.

We’ll take this one step at a time.
Black people in the U.S. cite maltreatment based on race and ethnic identity.

Many blacks in Africa face even more extreme oppression based on race or ethnic identity. Many African societies are so fragmented that they never united on a widespread black-vs.-white dicotomy. Rather, it’s Hutu vs. Tutsi, Hema vs. Lendu, Kalenjin vs. Kikuyu, Muslim vs. Christians and animists. In some cases, the physical differences between these people is as marked as the “racial” difference between whites and blacks – e.q. the very tall Tutsi and the short Hutu. There are also extreme prejudices against marrying outside the tribe. In other cases, there are the lighter-skinned blacks of northern Sudan carrying out a program of slavery against darker blacks of southern Sudan.

If what besets blacks in the U.S. is bigotry, prejudice, and ethnic discrimination, then there is far more of that to go around in Africa.

Do you get it now?

That was not my postion. To repeat what was said:

I left ample wiggle space for Apartheid South Africa, or other simular countries.

And if not: There does not exist a category of just being “black” in Africa. “Black” there is not seen as the monolithic group as in the U.S. What matters is what language you speak, and perhaps what sub-dialect of that language you speak. What matters is what tribe you are from and perhaps what clan of that tribe you are from. You do not become a member of a group just by saying you are black. And the oppression for being the “wrong” kind of black is far worse in Africa than it is in the United States.

Nope. You forgot to add the “point” (I notice you’re ignoring me because you don’t really have a point).

Come on, you directed this whole thing at me in the first place, so just tell me, WHAT DOES AFRICA HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING?

One more time, pizzabrat, you said to me: “…God, what a whiner. Hey, if it’s so hard to be a white man in America, why don’t you just move?” So I asked you, “If it’s so hard to be black in America, name a black-majority nation where it’s easy.”

But you’re right – it doesn’t have to be in Africa. Name any black-majority nation, anywhere. Haiti?

sigh Why? What does a black-majority nation have to do with anything?

Really help me find the paralllel:

I said to you “If it’s hard to be white here, move”

You said to me “If it’s hard to be black here, name a black-majority where it’s easier”

They don’t match. Therefore, you must have had some point in adding that, since it wasn’t a valid response to my suggestion. Now, are you trying to be blatantly racist (because if you are, why should you expect anyone to have any sypmathy for you when you imagine that you’re being oppressed by AA?), or is it possible to interpret your response as not trying to suggest that blacks can’t even take care of themselves and that I should be lucky that whites here put up with blacks?

pizzabrat, I’ve dealth with assholes who are far, far better than you at race baiting. They all are assholes, but at least some of them are more clever than you (of course, that’s setting the bar pretty low.)

You threw out the line “Hey, if it’s so hard to be a white man in America, why don’t you just move?” hoping that I would reply with a similar sentiment that would be considered racist coming from a white person. That way you could play victim and invite a pile-on. Instead, I asked you a very trenchant question – in what black-majority nation would you be better off than in the U.S.? So now your pissed because, one, I didn’t fall for your stupid trick, and two, you can’t answer the question I posed to you.

Tell you what: why don’t you put some energy into having a productive life instead of playing your petty fucking games?

Should be: “pizzabrat, I’ve dealt …”

And what’s up with you naming yourself after pizza (the “brat” part I understand.) Don’t you know that stealing our heritage is a form of cultural genocide?

What-the fuck-ever! First of all, I threw out that line as an appropriate reverse of the old “america: love it or leave it” slogan that your type traditionally likes to deploy to minorities who have gripes with things here, not to draw any specific response. What similar sentiment did you think I was expecting from you? The exact same line with “black” replaced with “white”? I’d have said “fine”, it’s an option I’m considering anyway (even though I wasn’t the one that was whining). How would that have even been racist?

Second, I definitely don’t expect a “pile-on” against a racist so easily on this board; if someone like you hasn’t been flamed by now, there’s nothing I can draw out of you to elicit a response.

Third, the only reason I can’t answer your question is out of pure ignorance. Maybe there are black-majority countries where it’s easier, maybe there aren’t. I have no idea; I haven’t travelled that much, nor am I that interested. What I’m “pissed” about is that this completely non-sequitor question seems to make so much sense to you. You demand an answer yet offer no explination as to why you asked it. Here, I’ll even give you the answer you wanted: “There are none”. Now tell me, WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
