Yet Another "Help Us Name Our New Puppy" Thread

Such a big name for such a little dog.

He has a short stubby little tail which makes him look like a mini bear cub. My g/f wants to name him Kodiak… Kody for short.

I love some of the ideas here. It’s definitely going to be hard. We’ve not named a pet since we were teens so it’s not as easy as it looks. We’re getting to know him each day… hopefully something will stick soon.

It’s not like you can’t try a few out. Call him whatever for one day, and see how it goes. It could take a month for our family to settle on a name. Five kids and two adults. Sometimes the pet had two names because that was the closest we could agree. The dogs and cats could handle it. My official name for the the cat is still Kitty because I hate what others called her.

Nah, Cody/Kody is way too trendy!

I have little dogs too. Some names we considered:

Fizzgig
Monster
Floyd
Grover
Gonzo

All of my dogs have at least two names. They will respond to both. Our mini dachshund is officially named Gracie, but she also responds to Floppy.

On the short list…

Harley
Bentley
Beemer

Hub is a mechanic that specializes in BMW’s so I think Beemer is clever. Bentley for an English-style name since he’s a Yorkshire Terrier, and Harley just because it’s cute.

We think we’re going with Harley…

Henry

<bad cockney accent>'enry 'iggins?</bca>

Pirate.

Or, I do like Skipper as well. It fits him.

Snack, lunch, tidbit, morsel

(kidding of course, he’s adorable - but I would like to meet a little teeny dog named Snack)

We actually considered Speck (Pee Wee Herman’s version of Spot)
