Yet another rant about Fred Phelps

I’ve stated my EXTREME distast for Phreddy in other threads but THIS time I’ve caught him in what I believe is one of his other pet hates, racial bigotry. He’s not as open about that as he is about hate-mongering about homosexuality.

In this flier:

Fred identifies the woman in the photo as being Episcopal Bishop Jane Holmes Dixon. I was puzzled by this as the woman is not vested as a bishop(no miter, no cope, no bishop’s crook) but as a verger, a sort of master of ceremonies. Note how he uses the word “swarthy” as a derogatory term, and what other reason could there be than racial prejudice?

I got MY facts on straight with the following:

That has a photo of the real Jane Dixon. So Fred slipped up and let ANOTHER hate of his show, hmmmm? One that he is AFRAID to picket about. Heh, heh, heh. God forgive me, I can’t STAND that man!

Oops, let me try that second one again:

Not to mention that “Black Mamba” reference in the margin next to the picture. So tell us, Fred… what exactly does the woman in that picture being African have to do with her being saved or damned? Nothing? Then why go out of your way to point it out?

Taking a second look at that flier, I notice that she is accused of “touting dykes and fags.” What is that supposed to mean? She carries them places? Is the Rev. giving free piggyback rides to homosexuals?

I love using a grammar nitpick as a force for good.

Also, I think the part about “God render[ing] recompense face to face, mouth to mouth, eye to eye” sounds kinda hot.

BTW, who is Queen Kay?

Queen Kay is the recently deceased Kay Graham, owner of The Washington Post.

You’re not gonna believe this, but Phelps actually used to be something of a bulldog civil rights lawyer before he went completely batshit.

You can read the details in this exhibit from a lawsuit filed by a Topeka reporter against the newspaper he used to work for which conviently contains the entire text of the unpublished biography of Phelps that is the basis for the dispute between said journalist and his former employer.

I fully expect that someday Phelps will be found dead, floating face-down in a body of water with his hands tied behind his back. I’m just not sure who will have it carried out–the people he spreads hate about, or Christians who are sick and tired of him soiling their religion by his supposed adherence to it.

In either case, it will prevent any further waste of oxygen.

Given his love of beating up members of his own family, I’d guess that it will be another Phelps who will do him in.

tout au’t\ vb : to canvass for customers.

Not at all, the Reverend has a booming business in Europe that aids the Dutch in levee construction and sells cigarettes to the English.

Just reading the words “Fred Phelps” makes me want to vomit. I don’t know what it is - some sort of Pavlovian response, I suppose.

Anyway, nothing this placcard-toting pile of excrement might do or say would surprise me. He seems to have a penchant for accusin’ in th’ Name Of the Lord!, pinning any sin on any body he deems worthy of damnation, and the reasons for his hate seem to rest solely in his own mind, with no evidence to back up his bizarre accusaitons. At least, most of the folks who have to cope with his shinannigans, if I can call them that, know he’s a witless moron with an unnatural lust for attention, and dismiss pretty much any statement from the Phelps Compound out of hand. (A while back I followed the links to godhatesfundies.com and read his life story. All of it. It was like a train wreck; I couldn’t stop looking, even though it was scary.)
