Yet another soda thread (or: Pepsi vs. Coke)

Every time you choke down the sugary battery acid that is Coke, God laughs at you.

Thanks - just started new diet - no sugary drinks and now have the largest possible craving for a Coke.

Sigh. Bottled water it is.

But Coke is at least a million times better than Pepsi. I really can’t stand Pepsi.

Gah. I ran out of Pepsi today, so I took the lone bottle of Coke in my fridge. Took me 3 hours to nurse it down. The alien residing in my stomach is rebelling and trying to tear out of my torso. I feel like I’ve lost several IQ points. I’m ugly now.

All that from one can of coke?

Either will suffice. However, Pepsi leaves my teeth feeling like they are coated with gunk. Hence, I prefer Coke. Mtn. Dew and coffee are my preferred methods of caffeine ingestion.

Coke is more acidic; Pepsi is sweeter. I prefer Coke for everyday consumption; however, Cherry Pepsi is superior to Cherry Coke because the acidity of Coke makes war with the cherry, while the sweetness of Pepsi lives in perfect harmony with the cherry. RC Cola is not as sweet as Pepsi nor as acidic as Coke; it’s the Switzerland of soda, the neutral ground of pop. It’s good to drink with chocolate things like Moon Pies. Generic brands of cola taste like somebody wanted to one-up RC in the “we R teh bland!” category, and thus are good only for consumption at family reunions where your aunts and uncles are too cheap to bring the good stuff and the only alternative is kool-aid of questionable origin and freaky colors that haven’t been marketed in ten years.

This thread is better suited for In My Humble Opinion. I’ll move it for you.

I assure that after 2 weeks of drinking the diet variety, you will enjoy them. Also, the sugar (or corn syrup) sweetened ones will taste thick and flat and have no appeal.

Just a temporary case of Coke cooties. I’m all better now.

I grew up in Atlanta. I live in Atlanta. Atlanta is the home of Coca-Cola. That’s all we drink here, so don’t ask for any other soft drink… unless it’s made by Coca-Cola. And even then, it’s still “Coke.” All drink vending machines are called “Coke Machines.”

hey, that’s my opinion too! then it’s not my imagination, i’d always thought it was the ice. (as opposed to a can of coke without ice cubes)

Coke > Pepsi

I’d rather pay to drink Coke than drink Pepsi for free.

In a related vein, I was in Asia for a few weeks last month, and had the pleasure of drinking Coca-Cola bottled locally … with real sugar. It took me a while when I got back to the 'States to get used to corn-syrup-flavored Coke, which is mildly disappointing by comparison.

(And I’ll drink either, though given a choice I’ll go with either regular Coke or Diet Pepsi first)

So did the suppository work for you then?
:stuck_out_tongue:

I only drink diet sodas, regular sodas are way too sweet.

And, okay, this is going to sound really weird, but I like Diet Coke better because it has bigger bubbles, while pepsi seems to have not only smaller bubbles but fewer of them.

About 40 years ago I barfed drinking Pepsi while in the car. Never touched it since. Coke rules, Mountain Dew is good also.

Did I ever mention the time we smuggled 210 cases of empty 16 ounce Coke bottles from Boston to New York?

Well, psycho There is hope. My school also had a contract with Pepsi. They recently switched their contract to Coke. (Of course AFTER I graduated. Blasted buttnockers.) Of course, there was that short period that the machines had Josta in them, when Josta was still available at all. I loved that. And Mountain Dew is the caffiene nectar of choice (after Josta) to keep us awake. Coca-Cola has no alternative to Mountain Dew. Not one with that much caffiene anyway.

Reminds me of that song, Lifestyles of the Not So Rich and Famous.

And of course you drink it while eating a MOON PIE.

the results so far, is roughly 26 - 10 in favour of coke.

so coca cola is it. :stuck_out_tongue:
