I’m losing my mind trying to figure this out. Normally I can rack my brains long enough and come up with an answer if I ever knew the answer, but I must be getting old because after a weekend of thought, I’m admitting defeat. So I call to the collective mind of the SDMB to put my mind at ease in helping me figure out this artist or even the name of this song without much information to go on. With that said, here’s what I remember.
The song is from around 1993-94. It has a hip-hop kind of feel with a piano (the kind you would here in an Old West Saloon). The guy who sang it is white, and I believe he had really short hair. The video was probably a Breakthrough Video on MTV because it was really cool. It was black and white and was shot in one continuous shot with the artist sprinting off-camera from one scene only to appear in the next. Through my brain scouring I think the guys name starts with a “D” and he’s possibly a one-name artist like Sting. I think the name of the song may even have his name in it. That’s all I remember.
