Chas.E, a 2MeV Van De Graaff partical accellerator isn’t all that big. The one I worked with at Wright State University was only about 20 feet long, not including the apparatus at the end of the vacume cylinder where the GaAs samples were held. It capable of 2.4MeV though we used it at about 1.5MeV. I could see one being perhaps a bit larger than that, but by the nature of their design, they would not be 5 stories tall. The outer tank housing the generator of our VdG accelerator probably wieghed in at 8 tons or so, and it was only 6-7 feet high. And the outer tank is 90% of the volume of a VdG type accelerator. ( If you want to know what a Van De Graaff accelerator looks like, think of an old style vacume tube on it side, the glass ‘bottle’ however is made of very thick metal, and everything is held together by very thick wields and huge bolts. ) We used our system to test GaAs semiconductor samples. We would run Deep Level Thermal Scans and Thermally Stimulated Current scans on a GaAs test pattern, zap it with the VdG and then retest the samples.

I imagine Uber-Otaku would be an extremely common name on otaku-oriented boards. In fact, I bet almost all of them have at least one.
The timing just looks suspicious on this one - ChasE has been posting here for months yet the ‘stalker’ doesn’t find him until he’s taking a beating in the Pit and people are beginning to seriously question him, giving ChasE an opportunity to request the thread closed.
