Yo, McUne! A Blog Anniversary MMP

Howdy Y’all! Weather says the low tonight will be in the upper 30’s Amurrkin! It’s the end of the world!

That’s all I got now.

Zeldadog was a Good Dog at the vet. She got treats from all the techs and barked at the other dogs. She hates Other Dogs. As a reward, I took her for a walk by the (almost overflowing) creek downtown. And I just remembered I left her in the back yard and there’s another line of storms coming through. Well, Complicated Roommate did promise to give her a bath.

I had a craving for quiche today, so I asked Chef Internet for a recipe and came up with this. It is Yum Indeed. I made it in two regular pie crusts and left out the mushrooms.

Home. Long day. Need chocolate.

Back later.

GT

lousy rainy stormy weather has given me another of those flippin’ sinus headaches that like to masquerade as migraines

bleh

I just received this from a goyshe friend:
The Facebook Haggadah
enjoy

Meatloaf was yum. Rain is done. Jeans in the dryer, other stuff in the washer.

My back still hurts.

Is it Firday yet?

 I especially liked the ending.

Work went well. I went to Wally World and bought a new grill for tailgating.

rosie,

swampy, it was 70 for hight today, and we have a freeze warning tonight.:dubious:

Rebo, embrace change, Vista only sucks a little(I miss Doom! :()

Ahhh. Home. Off work tomorrow. And the weather has turned glorious, bright and sunny and into the 50s. I have the windows open right now. Yay, spring!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HRH!

doggio I can totally see that happening here, except nobody here bothers with freeze warnings. But 70, then below freezing? Yep. It’s supposed to get down near 20 tonight, then up to 58 tomorrow.

Work was long. I really, really, really wanted a cigarette today, but didn’t have one. This quitting business is going to be a real slog.

The weather is beautiful. It was about 73 degrees out when I left work. Unfortunately, I didn’t really get to see any sun until my drive home. My office doesn’t have any windows.:frowning:

I guess I’ll have to figure out the dinner thing now.

Oh! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HRH!

Happy Birfday to HRH and the blog! I haven’t tried any of the Mumper recipes (living at college, I don’t get to cook much, although I do occasionally whip something nice up when I get bored) but a few of them sound quite tasty. 'Specially the desserts!

I’m happy. Yesterday was AWESOME! I ran into a few friends at Brunch, and after eating we decided to go for a walk. While walking, we picked up more and more people, until we had a horde of like 10 people roaming ‘round campus. While we were walking, we came upon a group of people doing pro - gay rights propaganda on the sidewalk in Academic Row as part of Freedom Week, and they invited us to join in… It was warm, low to mid 70’s, and there was a light breeze and clear blue skies and we were all enjoying each others’ company, so we pitched in. We spent hours plastering the concrete with rainbows, flags, icons and symbols and messages and whatever else we could think of, all in support of GLBTQ rights. It felt good to finally pitch in to support a cause I believe in! And it was straight up fun, I haven’t played with chalk in years.

Of course, it rained overnight. Oh well, it was still fun!

I had a physics exam today, which I feel like I comletely dominated, thanks to a five-hour study session with friends from class. And the Calc III exam I was supposed to have tomorrow got pushed back to Thursday! YAY!

Oh, and I registered for housing next year with two of my current roomies (the third is graduating) so we’ll still be together. More yay!

So yeah, all is good right now. I’m gonna go take a walk; will try to check back on y’all when I return!

The only recipe I’ve made from the list is the death chicken - wasn’t great the first time, but after a couple of tweaks, it was declared fit to eat by 'im indoors. He’s obviously very hard to please! Most of the other recipes I either haven’t tried or have had to modify quite seriously to make them Fat Club-friendly. Maybe one day when this whole dieting lark’s over, I will find some more to try.

Yesterday was a busy day, I was doing exam invigilation for two 3-hr sessions which turned out to be more like 4hrs because we had to set the room up and lay out the exam packs, and then collect them all up and put them in numerical order afterwards. Good thing there were at least four of us doing the job! Today I have the last 45mins of the morning exam session to do, and the whole of the afternoon one.

I shall be glad to get home tonight, although it’s Fat Club and I am hoping the scales will be nice to me today. Last week they were downright rude.

Yays, boos, hugs, trout and appropriate/inappropriateness all round. Take yer pick!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s 36 degrees Amurrikin outside. BRRR!

Oh well, at least today is my hump day this week. YAY! Next week I get to go back to Monday - Friday as a work week. For a while. Who knows how long.

Ok, need more caffiene and some brekkies.

Later Y’all!

Blurf, with grrrrrrrr and bonus gruuuummmmble.

The Vast Conspiracy To Piss Me Off has been unusually active for the last 2 days.

  • I came home at lunch yesterday because of the tornados all around. No problem getting home or anything, and MAYBE one came across the Chowan River from Bugtussel to chew up some trees in the swamp. When the all clear was sounded, I decided that it was nap time. VWife half says, half asks me to accompany her to her doctor’s appointment with the spine surgeon for a consult. Ooooookaaaay, so I went.

We’re late. I drop her off, and run to the PCP’s office further up the road to get her x-ray film, to save time. When I got there, I announced who I was, and the idiots at the front desk were reluctant to send me back to the exam room where VWife was waiting. They relented.

When I got into the room, she told me she didn’t hink this was the right doctor. She was supposed to see an orthopedic surgeon, and she was booked for a pain management specialist. There was a bad experience with a different pain management practicioner in the same practice, so both of us were on edge… And VWife was right. Pain management, not surgeon, but at least this one was competent, and acknowledged immediately the booking mistake. A wasted appointment, and a nap lost.

  • When we got home, Andy the [del]Caddyshack gopher[/del]Golden Retriever pup’s parents left a message on our answering machine, wanting us to come get him, because he was dying once again. :dubious: I picked him up after another nap. “He has no energy, and there was that thing with the worms a couple of weeks ago…”

Well, he’s a 9 week old pup, and I could feel his ribs when I picked him up. :dubious: :dubious: When I got him home, he made a beeline for our dog’s bowls, and started eating all of the overflow. There’s nothing wrong with him that feeding wouldn’t fix.

  • Last night at the rescue squad meeting, they announced a new ambulance driver training policy for the n00bs. It doesn’t affect me directly, because I’ve been there a while and I’m grandfathered. What does affect me is the list of trainers that will have the ability to sign off on the sheets for the n00bie drivers; I wasn’t listed, but a couple of names were listed who could, and they have less time and miles logged than me.

I went to the Chief, tossed the list in front of him, and pointedly asked, “Who did I piss off?”

“Huh?”

“Why am I not on this list?”

He got up, and headed off like a scalded dog. When he couldn’t be found, I headed out the door to go home. The chief was outside with the training officer, and they cornered me for an explanation.

“You’re not on the list because you don’t have much experience driving apparatus.”

“Bullshit. I took 80 calls last year, and I drove roughly half of them.”

More CYA from them, and I went for the kill. I pointed to a specific name of a guy who was a classmate of mine when we did Basic. He’s good and everything, but he doesn’t run much because he works out of state and is never home. He had maybe a dozen calls to his credit last year.

“Oh. That’s an oversight. We’ll amend the list.” Meaning his name comes off, and mine won’t be added. Then I gave both of them even more hell because of a percieved lack of attention regarding my development. I’ve stated many time my personal goals and objectives, and 0 support or grooming to reach them.:mad::mad: I left in a very foul mood, and I’m still smouldering this morning.

I think I need a week on a tropical beach with the Swedish Bikini team for an attitude adjustment.
Have I unseated Swampy as the king of the smilie abusers?

Morning Mumpers! It only got down to 42 degrees Amurikin here. Gordie is going to the DOGPARK! after I go to the pregame skate.

VBob, bummer. Would Sweedish twins do?

Congrats, Moonie!

Hang in there, Taters, the craving will go away.

G’morning. It feels so nice to sleep until you wake up naturally!

38° this morning. Brr! But clear and promising to be a lovely day.

We bought the computer. Thursday the geek squad will come set up everything to be networked and wireless. We are pretty clueless. So I will have to back up pictures and music and stuff today. Just some of them - I did back up somewhat recently.

VBob, I’d be pissed, too!

Hope today’s better…

Laterz.

G’morning all! Caffeinated … well, as much as I can without having to do the doobie dance. LOL At work too, definitely don’t want to dance here.

Sorry about the grumbly stuff, BBBBobbio; hope that they rectify it for you. Yay to Rebo’s new computer!

Don’t have much else today … it’s Tueday though; it’s not even close to Firday yet, more’s the pity. :stuck_out_tongue:

Evening all.

Wow, VBob! That sounds sucky!

Congrats Rebo on the new 'pooter!

HRH had her appointment with her usual paediatrician today and the second opinion about rickets is that the first opinion was a load of tripe! My daughter is hale and hearty and full of health! :p~~~ So the moral of the story is, “Don’t trust an Egyptian doctor, no matter where they studied or what they say!”

Yeah, I really hate The Vast Conspiracy To Piss Me Off. Usually, it’s the operatives in the Stupid Driver division that carry the freight of annoying me.

bobbio, you’re letting them win.

moonie, cheer the hell up, will ya? Jeesh!

Chilly here this morning, too, although I suspect snowbunny would think it was grand. Meself, I prefer warm and balmy. And it IS April in Flawduh.
