It’s not panic if you are listening to some newsbot speculate about any of the dozen or so theoretical terror attacks someone heard a rumor about. It’s just pained bemusment.
I was reading USA Today’s story of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed’s capture over the weekend. My eyes bugged out when I read this:

I’m just yanking chains, here folks, it’s Murfreesboro, NC where Mohammed was living.
I work and live in NYC (spelled T-A-R-G-E-T). We have stores here that sell gas masks, radiation suits, and parachutes (for jumping out of burning skyscrapers) all in a handy kit for around $1100 per person. I wouldn’t mind having a gas mask, a radiation suit, a gun, a knife, a first aid kit and a dirt bike handy just in case. But I ain’t panicking. I don’t have any of these things either, but that is mostly do to procrastination/finances. I consider them to be good ways to try to give yourself a chance.
And duck tape is the bomb. Ask MacGuyver. . .
