You ate WHAT??

My mom used to (still does, actually) make fried bologna with creamed potatoes, with extra cream sauce for the sausage. Not too bad, really.

I used to eat peanut-butter-and-tuna-salad sandwiches. I have a friend who drinks Bailey’s in Coke (it curdles, just so you know)

This is an old, old thread about some stuff I ate one fateful night.

Actually, it just coagulates. Baileys would have to be put into something much more acidic than cola to curdle, such as lime juice.

I love peanut butter, jelly and tomato sandwiches. Most people find that weird.

Humm… nothing with chocolate included could be considered gross, but I have to second any suggestion made about marshmellow sauce and meat.

Peanut butter goes with everything… Except mustard. I regularly eat peanut butter and whatever sandwiches when I haven’t been to the grocery in a while. Peanut butter and Mayonaise is very good. PB and pickles or olives is also good. One of my faves, PB with alfalfa sprouts and extra sharp cheese on whole grain bread will cure you of either constipation or the runs. Peanut butter is great with fruit, vegetables, meat, pasta, anything…except mustard. Mustard goes with a lot fo things too, I love mustard… but not with peanut butter. Many of the things mentioned, especially the dog poo, are of questionable taste regardless of what they are with (bologna for instance). So, in keeping safely inside of the constraints of the OP, I vote for Peanut Butter and Mustard.

Peanut butter on hot dogs! Yum!
(Not the unsweetened organic kind of peanut butter though–just creamy generic processed peanut-food spread…)

Prime rib with grape jelly gravy

cottage cheese & ketchup

mashed potatoes & peanut butter

navy bean soup & watermelon

These aren’t two foods, but it’s close enough.

Frosted flakes with beer instead of milk.

No shit, I’ve seen it done. After a big party. What made it worse was that the beer had been open and sitting out all night. He was even sicker than before after that. There’s my story for the day.

Most of the genuinely disgusting stuff mentioned so far has consisted of things I dislike even if they’re separate (sauerkraut, lima beans, liver…ick). So, I present for your consideration:

anything minty with Coca-Cola <ack…gag>
a margarita sundae (talk about curdling!)

Isn’t that what Irish people live on?

ducks and runs

I’ve never tried that combo, but I love onion bagels with butter and raspberry jam. Yummy!

UncleBeer suggests:

Melt 2 Tbsp. butter or other solid fat, blend in 2 Tbsp flour, ¼ tsp. black pepper, and salt to taste. Gradually add 4 cups of milk, stirring constantly, until it begins to boil. Add 2 cups of hot vegetable pulp and 2 cups diced bologna. Serve immediately, for 6.

Beef stock and/or red wine may be substituted for 1 cup of milk. Celery salt, hot sauce, and/or thyme may be added for extra flavor.

(I also have a recipe for cream of peanut butter soup.)

Enderw23 offers:

Slice an onion into rings and saute in a tablespoon of fat for five minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste, with ½ teaspoon of minced parsley and 2 cups (about a pound) of diced uncooked poatoes, and pour a 12-oz. bottle of beer over it all. Heat to boiling, and cook until potatoes are tender (about 20 minutes). Thicken with two tablespoons white flour made into a paste with a little cold water. For 4.

I can’t believe no one has yet mentioned cranberry sauce and milk

Back when I worked in the restaurant, on slow nights we would have the NCCs: Nauseating Combination Competitions.

The worst two I remember are:
Dill pickle coated with hot fudge sauce
Sugar wafer dipped in bleu cheese dressing

Note that separately, I LIKE all those things.

I LIKE that.

What about ketchup and mustard on a banana split?

lemon meringue haggis

lemon meringue haggis?

That’s tough to beat! Hmmm…how about lutefisk suspended in raspberry gelatin? (Lutefisk all by itself is bad enough)
Back to the OP now…GOOD foods that clash with one another:
How about tacos with maple syrup?
